~Chapter 14~
âThere are three children in the family, and Lilianna is the only girl. Perhaps because she was raised with too much pampering, she grew up to be somewhat laid-back⊠or rather, a very slow-paced child.â
She was trying to imply, âSo Iâm not suitable to be the crown princess.â However, the king and queen showed no sign of caring at all.
âSince William is such a stiff and serious person, wouldnât it be just right if his partner had a more easygoing personality?â
The two of them talked happily.
The queen had always wanted a cute daughter, since she only had sons. She looked at Lilianna with a gentle smile.
âMy dream was to go shopping with my daughter and enjoy tea at a stylish cafĂ© together.â
Hearing such words, Lilianna was gradually cornered into a situation with no escape.
If the king and queen wouldnât help, then the only way was to make Prince William himself withdraw the engagement.
Lilianna could only wait for the prince to arrive, hoping to somehow transferâor rather, changeâthe position of his fiancĂ©e to another noble lady.
Before the muscles of her face completely froze from her forced, strained smile, Prince William finally finished his work and entered the room.
His face didnât show even a hint of a smile; being too perfectly refined only made his expression feel colder.
Then, addressing William, the king said something seemingly out of his mind.
âWell then, itâs better for the young ones to talk alone, right? William, take Lady Lilianna to your room.â
What kind of punishment is thisâbeing alone with this ice-cold man?
âŠThat was her first thought, but after thinking carefully, it might actually be more convenient for requesting the cancellation of the engagement.
Yes, letâs do that.
With that intention in mind,
âThen, Prince William, would you kindly guide me?â
She said this with a gentle smile.
But William exhaled loudly enough for everyone in the room to hear.
âFollow me.â
With that arrogant command, he left the room without even looking at her.
Lilianna hurriedly bowed to the king and queen and quickly followed behind the prince.
Normally, a noble lady should not run like thatâit was unladylike.
But this prince wouldnât even slow down for her.
Seriously, shouldnât a gentleman match his pace to that of a lady?
âŠHaa, she was slightly out of breath.
Do you even know the word âconsiderationâ? She wanted to say it, but swallowed it back.
And so, she did her best to just keep following behind the prince.
