Chapter – 02
Such a Strong Pheromone
Shi Ciyan glanced at the back of Yu Wei’s neck and curved his lips slightly. He didn’t refuse Yu Wei’s kindness, handing him a small suitcase containing a few pieces of clothing while he himself carried the larger one.
The staircase was narrow, and it was inconvenient for both of them to walk side by side with luggage. Shi Ciyan deliberately fell two steps behind, following slowly behind Yu Wei.
Yu Wei was wearing formal clothes today—a white shirt and black suit pants. The shirt hem was tucked in neatly with shirt stays, emphasizing a slim waist that looked like it could be encircled with one arm. The lower half of his body was wrapped in suit pants, highlighting a perfect waist-to-hip ratio and long, straight legs.
Shi Ciyan took it all in.
The two of them returned to Room 508 one after the other. The air conditioner was on in the dorm, but there was still no one inside.
After just a few steps, Yu Wei was already exhausted and overheated. He closed the door and used his collar to fan himself, trying to cool down. As he moved, the collar brushed against his skin, causing a faint itch. He scratched absentmindedly through his clothes, then paused when his fingers touched the pheromone inhibitor patch. He still wasn’t used to having something stuck on his skin.
He had only been here for three days, and he didn’t even remember how many times Uncle Wang had reminded him to keep the inhibitor patch on properly. Somehow, Yu Wei always knew whether he was wearing it or not, and would force him to put it on if he wasn’t.
Yu Wei fanned himself for a while, secretly observing whether Shi Ciyan needed help, while also fulfilling his responsibility as an older brother by organizing Yu Song’s things.
In the story, one protagonist was poor and the other rich. Yu Song, relying on his wealthy background, bullied the poorer one. After the two protagonists got together, the rich one avenged the poor one and directly brought down the Yu family.
But Yu Wei still couldn’t figure out whether Shi Ciyan was the rich one or the poor one.
He glanced at Shi Ciyan’s clothes—just a simple T-shirt and pants—but couldn’t determine anything from it.
He gave up for now. Since he had already found one protagonist, there was no need to rush.
After organizing the desk, Yu Wei began unpacking Yu Song’s bedding.
In university, students had to bring their own bedding. Freshmen weren’t allowed to live outside during their first semester. For Yu Wei, the dorm conditions were already top-tier, but for Yu Song, who had grown up with a silver spoon, it was clearly a downgrade.
Because Yu Song had been forcibly placed into the school, Yu Wei’s parents were too embarrassed to request special treatment for him. However, they had already bought him an apartment across from the university, planning for him to move out after the first semester.
So for now, he had to endure dorm life for half a year.
Yu Wei climbed onto the bed himself to help him make it up. He was very skilled at this—he had learned these things early after losing his parents in his previous life.
He finished quickly and climbed down. At that moment, Shi Ciyan was also unpacking his own bedding.
“Do you know how to do it? If not, I can help you.”
Yu Wei offered.
Shi Ciyan smiled. “Then I’ll trouble you.”
“No problem.”
After all, his life and future wealth depended on him. How could he say it was trouble?
Yu Wei climbed onto Shi Ciyan’s bed, kneeling on the edge as he skillfully put on the duvet cover.
He worked quickly and efficiently. In just a few moves, it was done. He shook it out and smoothed it flat, but noticed a corner was still uneven. He leaned forward, supporting himself with one hand, and crawled over to fix it.
Standing below, Shi Ciyan watched him. Yu Wei was kneeling on his bed, waist slightly arched, hips raised slightly. His suit pants were stretched smooth and tight, outlining a clear shape.
Yu Wei.
Shi Ciyan silently repeated the name twice in his mind.
An Omega releasing pheromones in front of him, and now lying on his bed in such a posture—it was hard not to overthink.
“It’s done.”
Yu Wei patted his hands and looked down proudly. “All neat and tidy for you.”
“Thank you,” Shi Ciyan said with a smile.
Yu Wei didn’t stay long. He turned around and climbed down the ladder. Just as he stepped on the last rung, his foot slipped.
He thought he was about to fall—but suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind, pulling him firmly into a warm chest.
A low voice brushed against his ear: “Be careful.”
Heat spread from where their bodies touched, along with a faint sweet fruit scent.
Yu Wei was startled. Once he steadied himself, he turned around and patted his chest.
“You’re really fast. You scared me.”
At that moment, the dorm door suddenly opened.
A boy with black-framed glasses stood at the entrance, eyes wide, frozen in place as he looked between them.
“Uh… should I come back later?”
“No, no, it’s not what you think!” Yu Wei quickly waved his hands, shaking his head. “I just slipped when I came down the ladder, and he caught me.”
The boy nodded blankly.
He was one of the earliest arrivals in Room 508. His bed was already made. Yu Wei walked over and started chatting with him.
“My name is Yu Wei. I’m the older brother of the fourth-bed student.”
The boy introduced himself as Qiu Lei, a local who had arrived early.
In Yu Wei’s mind, he had already decided this guy was just an NPC—maybe even someone without a name in the original plot. Feeling a bit of sympathy, he chatted with him for a while.
Before leaving, Yu Wei added him on WeChat.
“If Yu Song causes trouble or gets into conflicts at school, please let me know immediately.”
He was worried Yu Song might offend the protagonists without him knowing.
Just as he was about to leave, Shi Ciyan called him back.
“Wait.”
Shi Ciyan walked over with a tissue. “Something on your neck. I’ll help you wipe it off.”
Yu Wei stood still.
The tissue brushed across his neck, bringing a faint itch.
Then Shi Ciyan’s fingers—whether intentional or not—pressed lightly against the back of his neck.
A sudden wave of numbness made Yu Wei shiver involuntarily, his legs weakening slightly.
But Shi Ciyan acted as if nothing had happened. He withdrew his hand.
“It’s done.”
Yu Wei felt uncomfortable. The inhibitor patch on his neck suddenly felt much more noticeable, as if it were sticking tighter to his skin. He resisted the urge to peel it off, forced a smile, and left.
Shi Ciyan watched him go.
After the door closed, he turned to Qiu Lei thoughtfully.
“You’re a Beta.”
Qiu Lei nodded in confusion.
This dorm building housed Alpha and Beta students together, while Omegas lived in a separate building.
After finishing his things, Shi Ciyan left the dorm to buy supplies.
At the entrance, he ran into Yu Wei again—along with another boy.
Yu Wei introduced him.
“This is my younger brother Yu Song, your roommate.”
Then he turned to Shi Ciyan.
“This is Shi Ciyan. The one I told you about. You two should get along well.”
Yu Song clearly wasn’t pleased and responded coldly.
Shi Ciyan casually accepted a bunch of hangers Yu Wei forced into his hands.
At that moment, Yu Wei thought he was helping him avoid the crowd.
Yu Song, however, was burning with resentment.
He hated Shi Ciyan.
And upstairs, another storm was already beginning…
A new boy had entered Room 508—his face full of hostility.
He looked at Qiu Lei and sneered.
“Beta?”
Qiu Lei nodded nervously.
The boy’s expression turned ugly.
“No wonder. A room full of Omega pheromones, and you’re sitting there fine.”
Before he could finish—
The dorm door was kicked open.
A figure charged in, leapt onto his back, and wrapped an arm around his neck. A hanger came down hard on his head.
“Who the hell are you calling ‘sleazy’? Say it again if you dare!”
