Chapter 12
An Emotion That Cannot Be Defined
“Th-That still doesn’t give you the right to just touch me whenever you want, you jerk!”
“So… Ah Ling hates me now, right?”
Elysia put on a hurt expression, and Ling Xi immediately panicked.
“N-No! That’s not what I meant!”
“Then if Ah Ling doesn’t hate me, why won’t you let me get close to you?”
“I… It’s just that you’re being a little too much this time, so I…”
Ling Xi hurriedly tried to explain herself, completely failing to notice the mischievous smile appearing on Elysia’s face.
“Then… Ah Ling is saying you’re willing to let me get close to you, right?”
“Y-You can do whatever you like…”
Ling Xi felt like she had completely lost all means of resisting.
She couldn’t beat Elysia, and she couldn’t bring herself to scold her either. In the end, all she could do was obediently let Elysia lead her around by the nose.
“I knew it. Ah Ling just can’t bring herself to reject me, can she?”
The moment she heard Ling Xi’s answer, Elysia immediately moved closer and rubbed her cheek against Ling Xi’s.
“Okay… okay, is that enough? This time I really have to cook. I need to go get the ingredients…”
Ling Xi awkwardly tried to push Elysia away, but Elysia had no intention of letting her go so easily.
“We can eat later. Right now, I want to do something more interesting with Ah Ling.”
Ling Xi was pressed against the wall by Elysia. Watching Elysia’s face slowly getting closer, she tried to make her calm down.
“Hey, Elysia… calm down, you—mmph…”
The soft sensation caused Ling Xi’s eyes to widen.
She desperately tried to push Elysia away, but her strength was no different from scratching an itch for Elysia.
“Ah Ling’s lips… are really sweet.”
Elysia gently stroked Ling Xi’s smooth, long hair.
She didn’t know how to express the feelings she had toward Ling Xi.
Back then, Ling Xi had been like a mother to her. The warmth she gave her, the affection and care she showed her—those memories remained vivid even now.
After Elysia grew older, Ling Xi became somewhat more distant from her. She still patiently taught her how to read and learn, and she would take her outside to play as a reward.
And now, with Elysia holding her down, watching her endure, watching her frown in embarrassment and pout in frustration, she realized that Ling Xi’s affection toward her had never changed.
Yet she hesitated.
“Enough… is that enough? I… I need to go cook…”
Ling Xi’s soft voice sounded like the final straw that broke through Elysia’s restraint.
Holding Ling Xi’s head, Elysia indulged herself in the kiss.
After a long while, when Ling Xi was finally released, her lips were already slightly swollen.
This time, she didn’t ask anything else. She waited for an opening, quickly slipped away from Elysia’s side, grabbed her backpack, and tried to run toward the kitchen.
Unfortunately, she had underestimated how heavy the backpack was.
The moment she lifted it from the sofa, the bag fell heavily to the ground, nearly dragging her down with it.
“Ah Ling, let me handle this. You just focus on cooking.”
Watching Elysia effortlessly pick up the backpack, Ling Xi looked down at her own slender, pale arms and fell into deep thought.
After a long while, only when she heard Elysia calling her did Ling Xi finally come back to her senses.
“Seriously… She’s a Herrscher. How could an ordinary person like me possibly compare…”
Ling Xi smiled bitterly to herself.
Suppressing the emotions in her heart, she turned around and walked into the kitchen.
