Story 64
Conveyor Belt Sushi
It happened when I was eating at a conveyor belt sushi chain.
The ordering tablet pinged to let me know that the squid Iād ordered was on its way.
At this place, the sushi is delivered on little vehicles shaped like different things. When my order arrived, I looked inside the approaching āvehicleāābut there wasnāt a plate of sushi on it.
Leaning in a bit closer, I saw a whole fish lying there, cloudy-eyed and giving off a foul smell.
I immediately filed a complaint.
The manager came over, bowed deeply, but looked genuinely puzzled.
Well, of course he was.
Itās a sushi restaurant, sureābut the staff only ever put sliced fish on plates. Thereās no way a whole fish would end up on one of those trays.
