Nightmare

This is a recent story.

For the past two months or so — not every night, but often — I’ve been having dreams about a dog.

But it’s not an ordinary dog.
In my dreams, a brown, medium-sized dog with no head runs around inside my house. It doesn’t bark or make any sound — it just sprints through the living room, kitchen, and hallway at full speed.

All I can do is stand there, staring blankly at the scene.

I’ve never owned a dog in this house — or before moving here, either.

I did buy this house secondhand, though. It’s a single-story home, and when I moved in, there was still a sticker on the front door — the kind people use to show they have a dog.

So I started thinking… maybe the previous owner kept a dog here, and perhaps its spirit still lingers — showing up in my dreams.

Still, I can’t really understand why it keeps appearing to me.
