Chapter 9 …
âI Donât Understand What This Meansâ
And the cause of this place being drenched in water, Lilliana was speaking as if it was entirely my fault.
Honestly, her attitude was irritating enough that I briefly considered hitting back at her.
However, if I were to retaliate here, it would cut in half the enjoyment of tomorrowâs main course, so I decided to endure it firmly.
After all, situations like this feel best when the other side remains under a misunderstanding and then gets beaten down without warning. For that, enduring a bit or two is nothing.
All the frustration Iâve built up until now has to be paid back in full tomorrow, making it the best day for meâand the worst day for my younger brother.
âWhat exactly is that look in your eyes?â
âWell, isnât this fine, Lilliana? Anyway, this guy is finished tomorrow. We can let him off with this much today, canât we?â
âAs expected of Lord Douglas!! To think youâre so kind even to this useless trash!! And on the other hand, even though he is the real older brother, sharing blood with such a kind and wonderful Lord Douglas, how could something like this useless trash be born⊠I canât believe it. Useless trash should act like trash and learn from your younger brother, Lord Douglas, donât you think?â
âHah. He canât do it anyway, so letâs just leave him. Itâs a waste of time to be involved with him. Thereâs no need to spend the precious time I could be having lunch with Lilliana on this guy.â
âThatâs true. Ah, since it became soaked because of you, you fix it. Got it?â
And then Douglas and Lilliana said only what they wanted to say and disappeared from in front of me.
Honestly, whoâs the trash here?
âAnnoyingâŠâ
Then I chanted wind and fire magic, creating a hot wind, and only dried my clothes, while leaving the soaked floor completely untouched.
After that, I headed once again toward the place where buffet-style food was being served so I could have lunch.
â
âHey, why did you leave the dining hall floor soaked without doing anything?â
After that, I finished lunch without incident and was about to return to the classroom, but on the way I got caught by an elf teacher.
He then took me to an unused classroom at the edge of the school building and immediately asked me that question.
I donât understand why I, the victim, am the one being told this.
âNo, I mean, wasnât it Lilliana who soaked the dining hall floor? Why do I have to clean up a floor that was flooded with water magic used by Lilliana? And furthermore, I didnât do anything, yet they were the ones who came at me. Iâm the victim here, arenât I?â
