Chapter 3
 Coming Back to My Senses
âGood morningââ
Clack.
The living room door opened.
A beautiful girl entered, stretching and yawning.
Her long silver hair was a messy tangle, and her emerald-green eyes stared right at me.
ââAaaaah!ââ
Right.
Iâd picked up an elf by the station yesterday.
Iâd completely forgotten.
âHm? Whatâs wrong?â
âN-no, nothing.â
I definitely couldnât admit Iâd forgotten.
Still⊠Chamomile really was beautiful.
Thinking about it calmly now, what the hell was I even doing yesterday?
Even if sheâs from another world, bringing a strange girl home?
Thatâs insane.
The more I thought about it, the hotter my face felt.
âWhatâs wrong? Your face is red. Are you ill?â
ââŠIâm fine.â
Right. I was living with her now, wasnât I?
I sighed as I remembered our conversation from last night.
âYouâre acting strange today,â she said, tilting her head. âYesterday you were much more⊠forward.â
Well, that was probably because Iâd just come home from Comiket and my brain was still fried.
âNow that Iâve calmed down⊠this is the real me. Inviting a girl overâsomeone whoâs not even my girlfriendâthatâs just crazy.â
Iâd never even dated anyone before.
And now I was suddenly living with a girl?
What was I thinking?
If I could go back to yesterday, Iâd give myself a serious lecture.
âThat girl you were talking to so familiarly earlierâwho is she?â
âOh, Amika? Sheâs my childhood friend. Like a little sister to me. Iâve never thought of her as a girl, really.â
âHmm⊠then that means Iâm your first?â
Chamomile stepped closer, closing the distance between us.
A faint floral scent drifted from her hair.
âW-what are you doing?â
âYou mean to say, Yuya, that youâve never been with anyone? You donât look bad or anything.â
She studied my face closely.
âThatâs the first time anyoneâs ever said that to me.â
I wasnât an extrovert, but I wasnât completely gloomy either.
Just⊠average.
Iâd lived a plain, normal life.
And in all that time, Iâd never once been popular with girls.
âMaybe I should be your first, then. Youâre not bad, Yuya.â
âWhaâwhatâs that supposed to meanâŠ?â
Chamomile leaned in, her breath brushing my face.
Was she⊠about to kiss me?
âPffftâhaha! Just kidding, you idiot.â
Her face turned red as she burst into laughter, tears in her eyes.
She was teasing me.
âDonât joke around like that. Iâm the serious type.â
âI can tell,â she said with a smirk. âYouâre adorableâtotally my type.â
Seriously, what a personality.
If I wasnât careful, her pretty face was going to get me in trouble one of these days.
âWhat are you doing, Yuya?â
I was sitting in front of my computer, browsing an online shopping site.
The reality was, Chamomile had come to this world with literally nothingâno luggage, no clothes, no belongings.
âYou donât have any clothes or anything, right? Nowadays you can shop online and have it delivered.
Honestly, going to a store to buy womenâs stuff is way too embarrassing for me.â
I wondered if boyfriends did things like this in real life.
It sounded like something out of a manga.
ââŠUnderwear⊠I donât even know your size.â
On the monitor, colorful womenâs underwear filled the screen.
Iâd just have to guess.
Since I didnât know her bra size, I ordered some in a free size for now.
Just temporary replacements.
âFor clothes⊠I guess a few T-shirts and pants should do.â
I didnât really know much about womenâs fashion.
She wasnât planning to go out anyway, so simple stuff would be fine.
I added a few more casual items to the cart.
âThis is getting kind of expensive⊠Ohâwait. Momâs clothes!â
I realized only after placing the order.
I couldâve just used the clothes left in my momâs room.
I could still cancel the order, but it was too much hassle.
âGuess I shouldâve thought it through better before buying. Letâs call this a learning experience.â
No point crying over it now.
I decided to make the best of it.
When I entered my motherâs room, I found her wardrobe still full of clothes.
I was glad I hadnât thrown them out.
They might be a bit mature in style, but still womenâs clothes.
She could make do with those for now, and weâd just buy what was missing later.
