The She-Wolf Looks So Fragrant and Soft

Early morning, in the Lion’s Roar Tribe.

A wolf howl, “Awoo,” cut through the sky.

Jiang Xi, who was still asleep, was instantly awakened.

She sat up in a daze, her face full of confusion.

Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?

Having stayed up late the previous night, she had fallen into a deep, unconscious sleep the moment she closed her eyes. Being suddenly awakened left her completely disoriented.

At that moment, a “knock-knock” came at the door, followed by Lu Liufeng’s voice.

“She-Wolf, time to get up?”

Lu Liufeng had noticed that the she-wolf had awakened, so he came to knock.

Jiang Xi braced herself against the doorframe, almost being pushed back inside.

She had checked on him the previous night, examining his body, and hadn’t noticed anything wrong, so she was somewhat surprised.

“How could this happen?”

After all, this was technically her doing—she had drawn Mu Ling’s powers, benefiting Lu Liufeng and Yi Yuexi in the process.

Both morally and logically, she had to intervene.

Jiang Xi extended her hand, signaling him to lower his head.

“Lower your head. Let me take a look.”

After a night’s rest, she had fully recovered. Her healing powers surged within her, overflowing.

Mu Ling lowered his massive wolf head.

It was then he noticed that the she-wolf’s face had grown even paler.

So beautiful… so cute… so pale, so fragrant… so soft.

Thinking this, he leaned closer, pressing his nose against the soft face of the she-wolf, the scent growing even stronger.

Mu Ling extended his tongue, wanting to lick and taste.

Jiang Xi, feeling his nose press against her, quickly stepped back.

When she saw the huge wolf mouth open, its red tongue stretching toward her, she slapped it away immediately.

“What are you doing!!”

Pervert!!

The next moment, the hot, rough tongue wrapped around the hand she had just slapped and licked it.

Jiang Xi’s dark eyes widened in shock, pupils trembling.

“Mu Ling!!!”

After the wolf howl came the human scream, piercing the sky.

A wind blade soon swept in.

Mu Ling let out an “Awoo” as his tongue instantly released her hand.

If one looked closely, traces of blood could be seen at the base of the tongue.

The massive wolf head tilted, glancing toward the direction from which the wind blade came.

Lu Liufeng was standing at the door, holding a basin of water, about to enter Duan Si’s house—the current temporary firehouse.

He hadn’t raised his hand, yet his power flowed outward on its own.

Mu Ling muttered, “How have they gotten stronger again?”

Lu Liufeng’s amber eyes fixed on him as he spoke:

“Mu Ling, let the she-wolf wash up and eat first. This can’t be rushed.”

Mu Ling snorted.

“Don’t think I don’t know! The she-wolf gave all the powers she drew from me to you and Yi Yuexi!”

Just thinking about it made his teeth itch with anger.

Why should it be that only I get hurt?!

Even though he was in pain, the she-wolf didn’t pity him at all!

Judging by Mu Ling’s perverted behavior, Jiang Xi decided to first wash up and eat. Once everything was settled and Lu Liufeng was by her side, she would deal with Mu Ling.

She edged toward the door.

Mu Ling’s erect ears twitched as he followed closely.

However, he was too large. Even if he could squeeze through the door, the room—crammed with tables, chairs, pots, and food—offered no place for him to stand.

So, Mu Ling shoved his huge head into the room, leaving the rest of his body outside, exposed to the snow and wind.

From the neighboring house, Kaober of the Marui family returned from the backyard with water and saw Mu Ling in wolf form, twisting his body and wagging his tail, only his head inside the room, seemingly doing… something.

He frowned slightly but didn’t interfere.

Though he didn’t understand, he respected it.

Inside the room, the temporarily bright firehouse instantly dimmed with Mu Ling’s wolf head blocking the light.

Whoever looked back would meet the gaze of the enormous wolf head and its piercing eyes. The wolf occasionally opened its mouth, stuck out its tongue, drooling two drops, leaving those inside the room somewhat helpless.

Lu Liufeng spoke.

“Mu Ling, step back. Don’t get excited and accidentally destroy Duan Si’s house.”

After all, even just getting his massive head in there was a tight fit.

If he made any sudden movements and broke the house, there would be no other space to use as a firehouse.

Mu Ling bared his teeth, looking toward the she-wolf.

He didn’t know why, but today she seemed especially fragrant, soft… and made him want to lick her.

Jiang Xi sensed his gaze and felt an inexplicable chill down her back.

She had a feeling that today, Mu Ling was… off.

She took a couple of steps toward Lu Liufeng, then turned to look at Mu Ling, whose head was stuck in the doorframe.

The wolf head was magnificent, its gray-blue eyes deep, sharp, and beautiful.

But… the way he looked at her… it wasn’t exactly… friendly.

Jiang Xi met those eyes and could only say something perfunctory:

“Shall we… eat first?”

Mu Ling saw her glance at him. With a soft “hey,” he twisted his limbs and backed his head out of the doorframe.

The room instantly brightened.

While washing her face, Jiang Xi used her healing powers on herself.

Though the dark spots on her face remained, when others looked at her, what first caught their eyes was no longer the swelling darkness, but her fair and bright skin set against the black.

Light streamed in, highlighting her long, thick lashes. When she tilted her head up, one could almost get lost in her clean and beautiful eyes.

Yi Yuexi stared several times, becoming flustered, his ears turning red.

Horen also felt strangely uneasy.

The night had been deep and dark. While beast-people could see at night, it wasn’t as clear as daytime.

In the dim night, he could look away.

Now, though, he couldn’t help but want to see more clearly.

But he knew he shouldn’t stare, so each time he glanced, he quickly averted his gaze.

Compared to them, Lu Liufeng was much calmer.

Still, when he served food to the she-wolf and met her beautiful dark eyes, he too was momentarily distracted.

The she-wolf was just too beautiful… a kind of trouble in itself.
