Chapter : 04

The infirmary door opened quietly, and the teacher’s gentle voice reached them first.

The woman in a white coat—Teacher Takatsuki Emi (高槻 えみ)—was carrying Yuu’s school uniform in her hands.

Her long brown hair was tied into a half-up style, its glossy strands sliding gracefully over her shoulders.

“Is Yuu-kun here? I got a call from the principal and brought his clothes. It sounds like there was quite a commotion. Are you okay? It seems you’ve already recovered though.”

Her voice was kind—but Akari quickly turned around in shock and hurriedly covered Yuu on the bed with a sheet.

“T-Teacher! Just a moment, please!”

The boy curled up on the bed, clutching the sheet tightly as he tried desperately to hide.

The teacher approached the bed, gently placed the clothes down, and couldn’t hold back a soft laugh.

“Fufu… As expected of Usagi-san, you’re quite fast. Did you already get close to each other?”

Akari’s face turned bright red as she stood up, turned her back to the teacher, and moved toward the window.

“…Thank you, sensei. I’ll return to class. Yuu, hurry up and get dressed.”

She left those sharp words behind and rushed out of the infirmary.

Smiling, the teacher also turned away from the boy and left the room.

Finally alone, he let out a breath and quickly put on his uniform.

He fixed his hair, looked at his eyes in the mirror, and traced the sensation lingering on his lips with his finger—Akari-san’s kiss… it was gentle.

His heart fluttered, and something restless stirred deep inside his chest.

On the way to the classroom, he met up with Akari in the hallway.

They walked side by side in silence. The air between them was heavy and sweet, filled with the afterglow of the kiss.

Akari occasionally touched her cheek and turned her face away—still remembering the heat of his lips, that moment when everything changed while he was on her lap.

He glanced at her from the side, lost in thought, and opened the classroom door.

The entire class erupted instantly.

All eyes stabbed toward them, and whispers spread like wildfire.

“Akari brought Yuu-kun back!”

“What happened?!”

“Is the prince okay?!”

A wave of curiosity swept through the room.

From the teacher’s desk, their homeroom teacher—Teacher Hayashi Haruka (はやし はるか)—a woman in her thirties with long black hair flowing loosely down her back, glasses over freckled cheeks, and a tired, laid-back aura—stood up and sighed.

“…Alright, alright everyone. Quiet down. I just said this at the assembly. Go back to your seats… class is starting…”

Then her gaze shifted to the boy.

“Yuu-kun… are you okay? No aftereffects from the rabbit transformation…? Don’t push yourself, rest slowly…”

Just as he was about to nod, Akari suddenly dashed to the podium and slammed the desk.

DAN!

The entire class went silent.

“Everyone! Don’t go casually approaching Yuu! He’s a transfer student, so follow the rules properly and focus on your studies! Got it?!”

Her voice carried the full authority of the class representative.

But a faint blush still lingered on her cheeks.

The students stared at each other in confusion.

“Eh, Akari… she’s serious?”

“Is the prince being protected?”

“Is the class rep… blushing?”

Whispers spread again.

The boy scratched his cheek awkwardly with a wry smile, while Akari returned to her seat.

From behind her, her best friend—Hinata Mio (ひなた みお)—spoke up.

With short boyish hair and an athletic build, she carried a strong, sporty presence. Her shoulders were firm, and her uniform skirt emphasized the powerful line from her waist to her thighs, giving her a dignified yet feminine charm.

Just by slightly lifting her upper body from her seated position, she seemed to expand her presence across the classroom, wearing her usual easygoing smile.

“Hey, Akari. What happened?”

“Nothing happened! Don’t go prying, Mio!”

Her voice betrayed her embarrassment.

Mio shrugged.

“Heh, I see.”

She smirked but didn’t press further.

Under the gaze of his classmates, the boy slowly stood up at the podium. A natural nobility as a Moon Rabbit Prince quietly seeped from him.

“Everyone, I apologize again for the disturbance. I’m Yuu Uzaki. Earlier at the assembly, I caused quite a commotion. The truth is… when I get nervous around the opposite sex, I sometimes turn into that form. It’s a Moon Rabbit trait I can’t really control…”

The entire class held its breath, eyes sparkling.

“Eh, he turns into a rabbit when he’s nervous?!”

“So cute…”

“I wanna make him nervous too!”

Whispers spread.

He continued.

“Earlier, Akari-san helped me, and I was really saved. Without her, I think it would’ve been a complete panic. Thank you, Akari-san.”

From Akari’s seat came the sound of her turning her face away.

A warm feeling filled his chest as he concluded.

“In my school life, I may unexpectedly transform again. If that happens, please inform a teacher, and my maid will come immediately to handle it. I appreciate your understanding. Thank you.”

He bowed gracefully and returned to his seat.

The classroom erupted in applause and cheers.

“Do your best, Yuu-kun!”

“Don’t make him nervous, okay?”

“Akari is basically his guardian!”

The teacher smiled and clapped lightly.

“Well… everyone, please warmly welcome Yuu-kun. His seat will be next to Akari… Class rep, take care of him properly…”

Laughter rippled through the class.

All eyes focused on him as he walked down from the podium, slightly blushing, toward Akari’s seat by the window in the second row.

—Next to Akari-san… my heart feels strange.

Akari sat at her desk, facing forward, notebook open.

But inside her mind, the aftertaste of the kiss still lingered.

That sensation… the warmth of breath… the synchronized heartbeat… the lingering ache deep in her chest—the memory of the infirmary suddenly resurfaced in the quiet classroom air, heating her cheeks again.

She tightened her grip on her pen, trying to focus.

But from the corner of her vision, she couldn’t help noticing his footsteps approaching.

As he reached her desk, fate—or perhaps simple carelessness—caused him to trip over his own foot.

His body lurched forward as if the world itself tilted for a moment.

Time slowed.

His hair floated gently, eyes widening in surprise.

By the time Akari turned around, it was too late—no, even before she could react, his face plop fell directly into her soft, rising silhouette.

A soft, warm fullness enveloped his cheeks through the thin fabric of her uniform, like clouds pressing in with gentle weight.

An overwhelming intimacy—almost suffocating sweetness.

A faint shampoo scent drifted from her smooth curves, teasing his senses and seeping deep into his chest.

Her warm heartbeat transmitted through the fabric, as if their hearts were syncing into one rhythm, blurring his vision.

—Eh… eh?! Akari-san’s… it’s warm… sweet…!

His heartbeat exploded.

With a soft poof, his body transformed again into a rabbit.

Silvery-white fur shimmered under the light, long ears twitching as he panicked and looked around.

The rabbit trembled against Akari’s chest, eyes wide.

Buried in her soft curves, the fluffy white creature quivered, tiny vibrations spreading through the fabric and stimulating her skin—warm, ticklish, unsettling her heart as if a small living thing was syncing with her heartbeat.

“Ah—hey! Yuu?!”

Akari’s voice rose sharply.

The classroom froze for a split second.

Her flushed face and hurried movement only pressed him further in, deepening the softness that surrounded him.

In that instant, her own heartbeat quickened, and beneath her composed class-rep mask, confusion spread.

All eyes locked onto them.

Silence exploded into chaos.

“KYAA! He turned into a rabbit again!”

“Nice one, prince!”

The classroom erupted.

The teacher stood up in shock.

“Everyone… calm down… I’ll go call the maid, just wait a moment…”

Akari scooped him up, her face burning red as she glared at him.

“You idiot…! What are you doing…”

His ears drooped flat, tail trembling slightly.

—I-I’m sorry… but I can’t stop this excitement…

Sunlight from the classroom window made his fur shimmer.

A new day had begun with chaos.

In this classroom, in this girls’ school—no one yet knew how the prince’s journey to find his destined partner would unfold.
