Chapter 61….
The Hammer Falls.
Though slightly taken aback by the looks on Yoann and Alexis’s faces, Christoph also declared firmly,
“Yvette’s half-sister in the Chalcedony Empire will be placed under surveillance immediately. Of course, so will her son and that nobleman. This time, we will definitely obtain proof. They will pay for Bernard’s death—and for threatening Felicia’s life.”
Everyone exchanged glances and nodded, each sealing their resolve in silence.
One day, about a month before the engagement ceremony of Alexis and Céline, the plan was set in motion.
As Céline entered the royal castle for her queenly education, Felicia and Yoann accompanied her.
Yoann’s transformation was truly impressive.
No one would have ever guessed that the boyish attendant, with only a trace of youthful innocence left, was in fact the terrifying Demon King feared by all.
Felicia felt a sudden sense of déjà vu at his face—youthful, yet astonishingly beautiful and refined.
“Lord Yoann, that appearance of yours…”
“This is how I looked about fifteen years ago. I’ve changed my hair and eye color, of course.”
Even his voice, while calm, was higher than usual—a clear, youthful tone.
(That’s right… when I met Lord Yoann as a child. I never heard his voice back then, but… it must have sounded like this.)
Realizing what the familiarity was, Felicia looked at him again.
The face she usually had to look up at was now at nearly the same height as hers.
Gone was the aura of sensual maturity—replaced by a fresh, innocent charm. His clear eyes met hers intently.
Flustered by the closeness, she felt her cheeks grow warm.
“Felicia looks quite nice from this height too,”
Yoann whispered near her ear, brushing her hair gently before grinning like a mischievous boy.
Caught off guard by the boyish Yoann, Felicia flushed all the way to her ears.
“Lord Yoann, please don’t tease me.”
Yoann watched her avert her gaze, her cheeks tinted rose, with a look of deep satisfaction.
