3. â My Charming Wife and Our Loveless Bed

The reason is that until recently, I had been having an affairâŠ
My wife had said to me:
âWhen we grow older, I want us to remain a close, loving couple. Please end things with that woman. Iâve reflected deeply on how Iâve treated you until now. From here on, more than our children, more than anything else, I will make you my priority. I want to give you everything and return to how we were in the old days.â
And so, I agreed to her request.
I consider myself to be fairly well-off compared to most people.
Itâs not as if my wife does nothing at home, but we often hire gardeners to keep our grounds harmonious and well-kept, and a housekeeper comes three or four times a week to maintain the rooms so that our house is always spotless.
Because we are often invited as a couple to parties and events, we share many acquaintances and friends.
My wife is social, active, and radiantâshe plays golf and tennis, does volunteer work, and keeps a wide circle of contacts. She is a lively and charming woman.
She once told me that, with my position and income, I attract no shortage of women who try to approach me with ulterior motives.
But as a man who loved my wife without end, I never once considered cheating.
âYet after about nine years of marriage, we found ourselves in a state of resâa marriage without intimacy.â
