It Doesn’t Just Shine, Actually
When the entrance ceremony ended, I immediately ran over to my brother.
There was only the ceremony today, so we were heading straight home afterward.
With all the students’ attention on us, the two of us returned to the family section where Father was waiting.
Since the entire Rosenberg ducal family was together, not only the students but even the teachers were buzzing and glancing our way. Before anyone could come talk to us, we quickly slipped into the carriage decorated with the Rosenberg crest.
And the moment I climbed in, Moko jumped at me.
“Mokooo!”
I caught the fluffy, pure-white Moko in my arms and immediately patted his head.
“Moko, I missed you sooo much…”
Even though we all know I won’t collapse from magic-overflow attacks anymore, I’d never been away from Moko this long before. I felt so lonely without him.
Moko pressed his whole body against me.
Ahhh…
So fluffy… so soft…
Heaven…
While I was enjoying his soft fluffy fur, Father, sitting across from me, was watching with teary, emotional eyes.
“It feels like a dream, seeing you enter the academy, Letty.”
“It’s all thanks to Moko, Ran, Father, my brother, and Robert-sensei.”
Still holding Moko, I looked back and forth between my brother beside me and my father across from me.
They were both watching me with such loving expressions that it made me realize—
I’m really, truly loved.
If even one of them had been missing, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
When Father, at my brother’s request, brought Moko home, I didn’t end up bedridden from magic overflow.
If Moko and Ran hadn’t absorbed my excessive magic until the cure was complete, I would have self-destructed from magical eruption.
Robert-sensei created the magic-overflow cure.
And my brother…
My will to survive—to live so he wouldn’t become the final boss—came entirely from him.
“You’re the one who worked the hardest, Letty.”
My brother smiled with the most exquisite expression.
Is this… a reward?
This is definitely a reward.
I’m accepting it as my entrance gift.
“You never gave up, even when you had attacks. I’m proud of you.”
“Brother…”
Uwaaah.
If he says things like that, I’ll cry from emotion…
My eyes were getting watery like Father’s, but then my emotions overflowed—
and my whole body PWAH—lit up like a spotlight.
Oh no.
I let my guard down.
I accidentally glowed.
The tears that were about to fall instantly retreated.
I really need to be careful not to glow at school.
This is going to be rough…
As I slumped my shoulders, my brother gently touched the protective charm stuck on the carriage wall, probably to cheer me up.
“Good timing, actually. I thought the charm was starting to fade.”
The charms have embroidery made with Moko’s fur.
Since I leveled up, the stitched character changed from “Protection” to “Absolute Defense.”
While we’re inside the carriage, both physical and magical attacks won’t work on us.
With charms attached to both Father’s and Brother’s carriages, even if we were attacked, none of us would be injured like before.
When I use the holy-sword-infused needle to embroider with Moko’s fur, the fur glows gold. But when the charm’s power fades, the shine weakens.
Meaning—
you can tell exactly when to replace it.
Very useful.
Nowadays, whenever I glow, it automatically refills the charm’s magic, so we don’t need new charms either.
Moko’s fur has been piling up lately… maybe I should make a plush of Moko in his original fluff-ball form.
(Though… Moko probably does need a friend at some point…)
Moko may look like a small dog now, but originally he was literally just a round fluffball with eyes.
A type of spirit that lives only near dragon territories, capable of absorbing magic—my brother brought him for my sake.
Because I apparently had a LOT more magic than normal, Moko actually grew bigger.
From palm-sized fluffball to ear-and-tail-having dog-sized Moko.
Finding out he was actually a young Fenrir was… shocking.
According to Ran—the former holy sword—when he grows more, he’ll be able to change size freely.
Cute dog-form Moko is great… but tiny fluffball Moko was also adorable, so I’m excited.
“Your earrings deepened in color too.”
My brother touched the earring on my ear with his beautiful fingers.
Fooooooooooohhh!?
His face—his perfect, god-crafted beautiful face—was suddenly close!
My entire body glowed even more fiercely.
Before I had the cure for magic overflow, this would’ve been life-threatening—
but now—
“Letty!?”
Since I’ve been cured by the special medicine, when I get too excited and my magic surges—

I simply fall asleep.
