An Jianqing’s eyes flickered slightly. She turned her head and opened the car door.
A cool breeze blew in, dispersing the ambiguous atmosphere inside the car.
Ning Xuechu got out of the car just as Uncle Zhang’s car stopped. She looked at An Jianqing but said nothing.
“Jianqing, this is your home? It’s really big and so beautiful!” Su Ya looked around and exclaimed in surprise. “It must be very comfortable to live here.”
Her expression was exaggerated, and so was her tone, which earned her a cold glance from An Jianqing.
Su Ya immediately shut up and asked with a smile, “Where’s the restroom?”
“There’s one on the first floor. I’ll take you there,” Ning Xuechu said主动ly.
She walked inside, and Su Ya followed behind her.
When they passed An Jianqing, Su Ya noticed her silent warning look. She blinked and secretly made an OK hand gesture.
An Jianqing suddenly felt a little regretful. Maybe she shouldn’t have asked Su Ya to help her out.
She didn’t know whether they could fool those cunning elders.
Ning Xuechu led Su Ya to the restroom on the first floor and smiled politely. “It’s here.”
“Thank you.” Su Ya nodded slightly and hurried inside.
Ning Xuechu’s eyes turned cold as she waited outside.
After a while, Su Ya stuck her head out and said politely, “Xuechu, could you please bring me my bag from the car? I want to touch up my makeup.”
“Okay,” Ning Xuechu replied with a smile and turned to leave.
As soon as she reached the living room, she saw a bag beside An Jianqing that looked unfamiliar.
“Sis, is this Sister Xiaoya’s bag? I’ll take it to her. She said she wants to touch up her makeup,” Ning Xuechu said as she walked over.
An Jianqing nodded.
Ning Xuechu bent down to pick up the bag. As she leaned closer, her soft black hair fell down and brushed against An Jianqing’s cheek.
An Jianqing felt a ticklish sensation and slightly turned her head to avoid it.
“Sis, what’s wrong?” Ning Xuechu asked curiously.
“Nothing.” An Jianqing answered calmly. She lifted the black hair near her ear with her fingers and used the chance to brush over the itchy spot.
Ning Xuechu saw the movement and smiled softly before taking the bag to the restroom.
She handed it to Su Ya. With an innocent and curious expression, she asked in a low voice, “Sister Xiaoya, how did you and my sister meet?”
Su Ya had already prepared for this question. She smiled and said, “We’ve known each other for a long time. The first time I saw Jianqing, I couldn’t believe there could be such a beautiful woman. Every smile and every expression of hers was so elegant. She was as beautiful as a fairy. When she smiled at me, my heart seemed to fall for her.”
What she said was half true and half false.
During the first two or three years after she met An Jianqing, An Jianqing had never given her a single smile. It was only after she took over all the data work and they gradually became more familiar that An Jianqing spoke to her more.
These words were carefully prepared in advance.
Ning Xuechu felt unhappy inside. She wanted to tear apart the smiling face in front of her.

When she said the last few words, her teeth ground together with a faint creaking sound.

“Who… confessed first?” Ning Xuechu lowered her eyes. Her heart began to beat nervously. She was afraid to hear the answer, yet she wanted one.
“Of course Jianqing. I don’t…” She was about to say, I don’t even like Omegas, but she suddenly realized something was wrong and quickly stopped.

An Jianqing frowned and said to Ning Xuechu, “Second Uncle and the others are coming soon. Go ask Aunt Lian to prepare a few cups of tea.”

“Nothing much. She just asked how we met and how we got together,” Su Ya replied. Seeing An Jianqing frown, she quickly added, “I answered very well. I guarantee she won’t find any problem.”
An Jianqing didn’t fully believe her. After thinking for a moment, she said, “Don’t speak later. Just sit quietly. No matter what happens, I’ll handle it.”
“No problem.” Su Ya agreed decisively.
She was being paid, so she wanted to perform well and not disappoint her “salary.” But since the boss had already reduced her workload, she definitely wouldn’t be stupid enough to “volunteer for overtime.”
Ning Xuechu returned to the living room and helped Aunt Lian prepare dinner. Just as they finished placing the dishes on the table, the sound of a car stopping came from outside.
An Jianqing immediately went out to greet them. When she saw Ning Xun, she smiled slightly and greeted her, “Aunt, where are Second Uncle and Shuyue?”
“They said they have something to do and will come a little later. Probably in half an hour,” Ning Xun said with a smile.
An Jianqing immediately understood. They were putting on airs.
They clearly knew she had something important to announce today, yet they deliberately came late to make them wait.
Ning Xun looked inside the house and asked in a low voice,
“You really brought someone back?”
