Chapter – 65
During it, she hadnât felt this embarrassed. Yet now, just fantasizing about it was enough to make her nose bleed.
Ning Xuechu despised herself inwardly. What filled her mind was still the Omegaâs warm and soft body.
After taking an hour-long cold shower, Ning Xuechu finally calmed down.
She took out an inhibitor from the hidden compartment of her suitcase and skillfully injected it into her body.
After finishing, she carefully stored the used inhibitor and placed it back into the hidden compartment.
She always carried an inhibitor with her, just in case of emergencies.
It was just that todayâs accident had been far more unexpected than she imagined.
An Jianqing was actually an Omega. That sweet scent had definitely been S-grade.
Now she was more curiousâwhy would an Omega pretend to be an Alpha?
Aside from inheritance or property issues, she couldnât think of any other reason.
As dawn broke, a ray of warm sunlight filtered through the curtains into the room.
An Jianqing slowly opened her eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling.
Suddenly, she shot upright in bed, only to be struck by an overwhelming soreness throughout her body. The pain tugged at her nerves, forcing her to lie back down.
Memories of the previous night flooded her mind. She vaguely remembered wrapping her arms around someoneâs neck and moving her hips against that person.
In an instant, fear and panic overwhelmed everything else. Ignoring the soreness, An Jianqing hurried to the bathroom to wash away the traces on her body.
She didnât know who that person had been. She didnât even have time to grieve over having given herself to an unknown individual. The most urgent matter was finding that person and making sure they wouldnât reveal that she was pretending to be an Alpha.
An Jianqing injected herself with Alpha inhibitors and went out to ask the front desk about what had happened the night before.
After two hours of busy investigation, she found nothing.
There were no surveillance cameras in the corridor, so there was no way of knowing who had entered her room.
She also couldnât ask anyone she knew, in case it backfired.
Now she could only hope that the person who entered her room didnât recognize her. That way, even if they discovered she was an Omega, they wouldnât know that she usually pretended to be an Alpha.
âSister, did something happen?â Ning Xuechu asked from the doorway.
âNothing,â An Jianqing replied wearily, her voice low and hoarse.
âSister, why is your voice hoarse? Did you drink too much yesterday?â Ning Xuechu asked.
An Jianqingâs heart tightened. Thinking of her uninhibited moans from last night, a faint electric current ran through her body. She lowered her head to hide it.
âSister, I drank too much yesterday too. When I woke up this morning, my head hurt terribly. I donât even remember how I got back,â Ning Xuechu said, rubbing her temples with a troubled look.
Hearing this, An Jianqing grew worried and quickly asked, âDid Manager Du drink?â
âI donât knowâŚâ Ning Xuechu shook her head, trying hard to recall. âI just remember drinking cup after cup⌠it felt like a lotâŚâ
âHow could Du Rong let you drink so much? What if something had happened?â An Jianqing said angrily. She walked to Du Rongâs door and knocked forcefully.
Du Rong hadnât slept all night. She had been searching everywhere for a room card, retracing almost all of yesterdayâs routes, even checking the private dining room where they drank.
The business partner had thought something serious had happened, and she had to make excuses to reassure them. By the time she returned, it was nearly dawn.
She went to the car and discovered Ning Xuechu was missing. Panicked, she rushed off to find her.
She happened to see Ning Xuechu coming out of the room, looking as if her head were splitting apart.
Feeling guilty, she ordered someone to bring sobering soup. She had just returned to her room and sat down when the door was knocked.
âPresident An, what is it?â Du Rong asked, trying her best to remain calm.
âHow could you let Xuechu drink that much? Didnât I tell you not to let her drink?â An Jianqing demanded loudly.
Du Rong was at fault and had no defense. She lowered her head slightly and endured the scolding.
An Jianqing, furious, warned in a low voice, âIf thereâs a next time, you can prepare your resignation.â
Du Rong stared in shock, unable to believe what she had just heard. Her eyes flickered. There were many things she wanted to say, but in the end, all she managed was, âI understand.â
Ning Xuechu, watching from the side, pleaded softly, âSister, donât blame Manager Du. She was the one who brought me back last night.â
âThatâs what she was supposed to do,â An Jianqing said coldly, her gaze toward Du Rong icy.
Du Rong trembled. Her heart was wrapped in boundless disappointment and pain. She couldnât speak, nor did she dare to argue.
An Jianqing turned and left, calling her assistant as she walked. âChange my flight to tomorrow afternoon.â
âSister, let me go back with youâŚâ Ning Xuechu hurried after her.
âYou go back with Manager Du,â An Jianqing refused firmly.
She still needed to stay and continue investigating. She couldnât let others remain here.
âBut Qiu Mengxi is still hereâŚâ Ning Xuechu blurted out.
An Jianqing froze, then quickly reacted.
She couldnât clearly remember the scent of last nightâs pheromones, but she was certain it wasnât the rose fragrance with a hint of red wine.
That person was not Qiu Mengxi.
âIs there a problem?â An Jianqing asked coolly.
Ning Xuechuâs eyes flickered with fear. She shook her head aggrievedly. âI was just worried about youâŚâ
âI know. Donât worry. Iâll handle it,â An Jianqing said, softening her voice.
What had happened last night felt like a massive stone pressing down on her heart. She was panicked and afraid, barely able to breathe, so she used coldness as a shield, presenting an icy exterior to others.
Looking at Ning Xuechuâs frightened eyes, she finally regained a trace of composure.
Seeing she couldnât stay, Ning Xuechu reluctantly left.
Back in her room, An Jianqing calmly considered the possible suspects.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
She jumped, steadied her heartbeat, and opened it.
Seeing Qiu Mengxi, she asked coldly, âPresident Qiu, do you need something?â
