Chapter 04
Time passed in the blink of an eye, and before she knew it, the morning of the party had arrived.
Molly came to wake her a little earlier than usual.
“Good morning, milady.”
“Mmm, good morning, Molly… just thirty more minutes…”
Muttering that, Liliana burrowed deeper under the covers, hiding her head completely.
But Molly remained unfazed.
“That won’t do, milady. Today is busy, so please get up quickly.”
Before she could finish speaking, she ruthlessly yanked the blanket off Liliana.
“That’s terrible, Molly,” Liliana grumbled, giving her a resentful look.
“I told you, today is busy. Or would you prefer to prepare everything on your own?”
“Ugh… fine, I’ll get up. Happy now?”
“That would be most helpful,” Molly replied with a bright smile as she efficiently set about helping her get ready.
This had become a familiar routine. Liliana should have learned by now and gotten up promptly, yet the close relationship between her and Molly made it easy to linger. Interestingly, when anyone else came to wake her, Liliana would rise properly.
Reluctantly, she got up and went to the washstand. Molly helped her wash her face and change clothes, after which Liliana sat at her dressing table.
As she brushed her loosely wavy light brown hair, Molly calmly relayed the schedule for the day. There was none of her usual leisure; it was clear today would be quite busy. Normally, showing such urgency would be inappropriate, but with milady Liliana, it seemed allowed.
In other words, while they could rely on each other in private, they maintained proper decorum in front of others.
“After breakfast, you will take a bath and receive a full-body massage. Then we’ll do your nails and hair and makeup. Finally, you’ll change into your attire and head to the venue with Master Ian as your escort.”
“Master Ian will escort me?”
Startled, Liliana instinctively turned to look, but Molly quickly twisted her head back, saying, “Face forward,” and continued brushing her hair as if nothing had happened.
“Yes, your escort today will be Master Ian,” Molly confirmed.
Once preparations were finished, she added,
“I’ll come again as soon as breakfast is ready. Please wait a little while.”
With that, she left the room after preparing Liliana’s favorite tea.
Liliana sank into the comfortable, high-quality sofa and slowly sipped the tea Molly had made, savoring the calm moment before the busy day ahead.
