Chapter 8
Loud, obnoxious laughter echoed through the halls.
Pierced ears with multiple rings, flashy hair colors — the students at Akihito’s university had pretty questionable manners.
As he walked through the noisy campus, trying to look indifferent, Akihito spotted Yū in the crowd of low-morality students.
A single earring in his right ear, light brown hair — nothing about him stood out that much.
And yet, Akihito found him instantly.
Even after breaking up, it’s not easy to forget someone you once loved.
Even if his feelings had faded, the memories of Yū wouldn’t disappear.
That realization hurt more than anything.
Akihito bit his lower lip.
Enough already. Who cares.
Forget him. Forget him.
“…Aki.”
A voice came from behind.
When he turned around, a man at least ten centimeters taller than him was looking down at him.
“What is it, Shima-kun?”
“…Wanna go get some ice cream?”
“Huh? Out of nowhere? I’ve got a lecture soon.”
“After it’s over.”
Shima didn’t usually talk much.
Expressionless and quiet — but that didn’t mean he lacked emotion.
This invitation was probably his way of worrying about Akihito.
He really is a kind guy, Akihito thought.
