Feelings That Miss Each Other

Yua froze in place and stopped reacting, while the students around them—who seemed to have heard Ryūga’s words—started whispering whatever they wanted.

Uwaaah, what do I do…

Ryūga may usually be a wimp who says dumb things all the time, but when it comes to his showbiz activities, he works really hard and takes them very seriously.
If weird rumors start following him around just because he tried to protect someone like me, that’s way too sad!

“For Ryūga’s honor, let me make this clear. You don’t need to worry—Ryūga doesn’t like me romantically or anything. We’re just close friends, and he’s only covering for me so I won’t get isolated at school because of those stupid, filthy fake posters.”

After Risa said that, she leaned toward Yua’s ear and whispered:

“If you’ve got enough free time to make dumb posters like that and stick them in the Performing Arts Course hallway, then use that time to work hard and improve yourself properly!”

Then she turned to Aoi.

“Let’s go back to class.”

“See you, Fūma. Ryūga-kun,” Aoi said.

“Come on, Ryūga,” Fūma added, giving Ryūga’s shoulder a quick pat.

Left alone as everyone walked off, Yua stomped in frustration in her mind:

“Wh-what the heck…? What was that?! So which is it, Ryūga?! Do you like that Hīragi Risa girl or not?! Ughhh, this is so irritating!”

But on the outside, she kept up the appearance of a calm, pure-hearted beauty.
Smiling gently at those around her, she quietly faded out toward the classroom.

“Hey, Risa.”
“Hm?”

“What do you think about Ryūga-kun?”
Aoi suddenly asked this weird question on the way back to class, shocking Risa.

“…Huh? He’s just a friend.”

There was no way she could tell her that Ryūga constantly came to her in private with all sorts of worries, and that she’d been giving him advice.
Ryūga had his pride, after all…

“Risa, you don’t like Ryūga-kun?”

“Eh? I do. As a friend. That’s why, so Yua doesn’t misunderstand any further and cause trouble for him, I’m planning to hurry up and find myself a handsome boyfriend. I’ll work harder at it than ever!”
