Chapter 1
She Tore Her Wedding Dress
In the capital city of the Kingdom of Zhao.
On the busy street, a richly dressed young lady led her guards and aggressively blocked a wedding procession.
“Move aside! That’s the eldest miss of the Li family, daughter of the Divine Doctor! If you offend her, you won’t have a good ending!” The passersby quickly stepped back, afraid of getting caught in trouble.
Looking at the rather shabby wedding procession, they could not help feeling sympathy.
“Whose bride is this? How did she offend Miss Li?”
“You don’t know? Today is the day Young Master Xiao is marrying Miss Fu. The one inside the sedan chair is naturally Miss Fu.”
With a loud bang, the Li family guards forcefully stopped the wedding sedan.
It shook violently, and a heavy muffled sound came from inside, as if someone’s head had slammed hard against the frame.
“Drag Fu Zhao Ning out! Strip off her wedding dress!”
Miss Li stared at the sedan arrogantly as she gave the order.
At once, the guards rushed forward and reached for the curtain.
The matchmaker hurriedly stepped in front of them.
“You mustn’t! How can the bride leave the sedan halfway? It’s terribly unlucky! Her husband’s family will despise her!”
The people around were shocked.
Miss Li actually wanted to drag the bride out in public and strip off her wedding dress?
“Whoever dares stop me is going against my father! If any of you ever fall sick or get injured, don’t expect my father to treat you! With one word from him, no pharmacy in the whole capital will sell medicine to you!
Brother Xiao never wanted to marry Fu Zhao Ning! This shameless woman forced him into it! What are you standing there for? Tear off her wedding dress!”
The matchmaker was kicked aside.
The guards yanked open the curtain and dragged out the bride dressed in bright red, her face hidden under a red veil.
They immediately started tearing at her wedding dress.
“This… this is too cruel… If Miss Fu is stripped in public, how can she go on living?” the crowd muttered in shock.
Some shameless men even stared with wide eyes.
“Quick, look! Let’s see if Miss Fu’s skin is fair!”
“It must be snow-white!”
The hooligans in the crowd laughed wickedly.
More and more people gathered until the whole street was packed.
“Please don’t do this! Miss Li, spare Miss Fu! If word spreads, Young Master Xiao will lose face too!” the matchmaker cried from the ground.
“If her wedding dress is stripped off, how can Miss Fu live?”
Someone asked in confusion, “Why is no one from the wedding party stopping them? Didn’t the Fu family send anyone? No servants? No maids?”
“Why isn’t the bride moving?”
Unable to watch any longer, someone ran toward the Xiao residence to call for help.
Then—
Rip!
The bride’s wedding dress was torn open.
The moment Zhao Ning regained consciousness, she felt someone tearing at her clothes.
She had not even opened her eyes yet, but anger instantly surged through her.
Her fist shot out.
At the same time, she raised her knee and kicked hard.
Bang!
“AHHH!”
One guard was struck directly in the eye.
The other was far worse off—her kick landed squarely between his legs.
His face instantly turned pale as his scream echoed into the sky.
Fu Zhao Ning tore off her red veil and steadied herself against the sedan.
Her sharp eyes swept across the scene.
She clearly remembered just finishing a fourteen-hour surgery for an important patient.
The moment she left the operating room, she had collapsed into sleep.
So why had she suddenly become the Third Miss of the Fu family?
At once, Fu Zhao Ning’s memories rushed into her mind like a storm.
Her vision darkened.
“Fu Zhao Ning! You shameless bitch! How dare you fight back?”
Miss Li charged forward, a long silver needle pinched between her fingers.
Her father was a Divine Doctor, and she had learned some acupuncture techniques.
One stab, and Fu Zhao Ning would faint.
Then they could strip her naked and leave her with nothing but an undergarment.
“Ah!”
The crowd gasped.
The needle flashed coldly.
Zhao Ning narrowed her eyes.
Her fist shot straight toward Miss Li’s chest.
Thud.
Small… but soft.
Her fist even twisted slightly.
“You just called me a little bitch?”
Fu Zhao Ning tilted her head and glanced down.
“Hmm. Yours really is quite small.”
“AHHH! It hurts! Fu… Zhao… Ning, you bitch!”
Miss Li’s face twisted in pain.
The needle slipped from her fingers and clattered to the ground.
She instinctively clutched her chest and bent over.
The crowd was stunned speechless.
Then a furious male voice rang out.
“Fu Zhao Ning!”
A handsome young man in luxurious robes hurried over.
The moment he saw the scene, rage filled his face.
“Have you no shame?! Who told you to remove your veil?
Before even entering the Xiao household or completing the ceremony, you let all these people see your face! Isn’t that unlucky? Have you no respect for me?”
His eyes moved to the tear in her wedding dress, and his face darkened.
“Your wedding dress is torn and you still dare stand here? You’ve completely disgraced my Xiao family!
Someone as shameless as you still wants to marry into the Xiao family?”
Fu Zhao Ning narrowed her eyes dangerously.
The crowd whispered.
“Heavens, Young Master Xiao is here! Is he calling off the marriage?”
“If he does, can Miss Fu ever marry again?”
Humiliated publicly, her wedding dress torn, then abandoned on the street—
her reputation would be ruined forever.
“Brother Xiao…”
Miss Li leaned into him tearfully.
“Fu Zhao Ning hit me… it hurts so much…”
Young Master Xiao immediately wrapped an arm around her.
“Zhi Yao, are you alright? Where did she hit you?”
Miss Li nearly choked.
How could she answer that?
“Fu Zhao Ning!”
Xiao Yan Jing shouted angrily.
“Zhi Yao only couldn’t stand seeing you force me into marriage and wanted to vent some anger for me! How could you hit her?
I never expected that besides being stupid, unreasonable, greedy, and shameless, you’re also violent!”
“I will never marry you. Go back at once!”
