Chapter 10
A Perfectly Fine Tan Shen, Except for That Mouth (1/2)
Although the man’s tone wasn’t good, he was still concerned about her.
But to the young lady’s ears, who cared whether it was concern or not? A bad tone was unacceptable.
“Are you yelling at me?”
Xie Yurao glared at him with her slightly rounded fox-like eyes.
She was already injured, yet this man didn’t know the first thing about being gentle.
Tan Shen: “…”
He was speechless.
Holding the ice pack, he lowered his gaze and gently pressed it against her swollen ankle. His voice softened a little.
“I’m not yelling at you.”
The ankle beneath his hand was so slender and pale, not even as thick as his wrist, looking as though it might snap with the slightest force.
Hugging a sofa cushion, Xie Yurao said stubbornly, “Who are you looking down on? Forget the end of the monthāI can be bouncing around practicing again tomorrow.”
As she spoke, she reached for her phone, intending to contact Jiang Mingci and have him come continue practicing with her.
Tan Shen lifted his eyes and shot her a cold glance.
“Fine. Practice with the culprit again tomorrow.”
Without changing expression, he held the ice pack in place. The joints of his long fingers stood out slightly, veins and tendons tracing attractive lines beneath his skin.
His tone was indifferent and cool.
“Fall a few more times, and you’ll be able to go on stage with crutches by the end of the month.”
Xie Yurao: “???”
She was instantly annoyed again.
Lifting her uninjured foot, she kicked at him.
“You’ll be the one using crutches!”
How could a fairy-like beauty possibly use crutches?
Tan Shen didn’t move, maintaining his posture and letting her kick him twice. It neither hurt nor bothered him.
Instead, her own little foot ended up hurting, and she sulkily pulled it back.
The young lady in the red dress puffed up her cheeks, glaring at him with her beautiful fox eyes. Then she suddenly blinked in confusion.
“Tan Shen.”
“I’ve noticed something today… Why are you acting so strange?”
“…”
The movement of his hands paused briefly.
Then, still looking down, he replied coolly,
“I’m not.”
“Yes, you are!”
Although this awful man was usually cold and arrogant, he had never been this excessive.
It was as if he’d swallowed a stick of dynamite and was snapping at even her.
Xie Yurao suddenly leaned a little closer.
“Could it be…”
Her fragrance drifted into his senses, and Tan Shen’s heart abruptly tightened.
Then he heard her ask in confusion,
“…that somebody beat you up at the boxing gym?”
Tan Shen: “…”
Looking up helplessly, he asked,
“Do you really think that’s possible?”
Though his tone was normal, there was an effortless dominance hidden beneath it.
Xie Yurao blinked twice.
She found herself rather captivated by the natural sense of authority and pressure he unconsciously exuded.
“Well… I guess that’s impossible too.”
After all, her bodyguard was very strong.
Hearing that, Tan Shen let out a soft scoff and said nothing.
Aunt Chen approached carrying a freshly made nourishing soup. She set it in front of Xie Yurao, planning to let it cool before she drank it.
Then she smiled warmly.
“Perhaps Mr. Tan just doesn’t like that classmate Jiang.”
Xie Yurao froze for a moment and looked at him.
“You don’t like my dance partner?”
Tan Shen abruptly raised his eyes.
His deep gaze was pitch-black, his voice cool and sharp.
“That idiotāwhy would I like him?”
The man’s handsome face was cold and severe. Whenever he wore a blank expression, it instinctively made people feel intimidated.
Xie Yurao stared at him blankly.
Tan Shen realized he had frightened her. He immediately lowered his eyes again, concealing his emotions.
Then he suddenly called out:
“Xie Yurao.”
