Chapter 01
āYou deserve not to have parents. Do you really think that locking me up here for the rest of my life will make me love you? Dream on!ā
āNo one will ever love you, you monster! You lunatic!ā
āāā
āHe Baizhi? Why are you spacing out?ā her coworker Sister Hua urged impatiently.
He Baizhi suddenly snapped out of the suffocating memory of being strangled to death in her previous life. Her hands were still trembling, and with a loud smack, the documents Sister Hua had just stuffed into her hands scattered all over the floor.
āAre you okay?ā Sister Hua asked with concern when she noticed her terrible state.
But He Baizhi seemed trapped inside a nightmare. No matter who called her name, she gave no response.
Sister Hua was so irritated her blood pressure nearly rose through the roof. She truly wondered how He Baizhi had managed to get into the Fu Corporation in the first place. Everyone else in the company had graduated from prestigious universities and were exceptionally capable.
But this He Baizhi was basically a walking disaster.
Ask her to photocopy documents, and she would somehow crash the printer. Later they discovered she had stuffed an entire stack of 4K paper into it, jamming the machine completely.
When company shareholders came to inspect the office, she acted as if she hadnāt seen them at all and splashed an entire cup of black coffee straight onto one of their faces.
And despite all of that, she still hadnāt been fired!
Only now did He Baizhi realize that she had been reborn.
In her previous life, it was on this very day that she had gone to deliver documents to Fu Tingshen. By coincidence, she noticed he seemed to have a headache, so she casually asked if he was alright.
Who would have thought that single sentence of concern would lead to her being imprisoned?
Although he gave her a castle-like mansion, let her drink pure natural spring water from Tianshan every day, fed her luxurious delicacies, and showered her with jewelry worth tens of thousands that she wore only once before discardingā
none of that was what she wanted.
All she wanted was to spend a simple life with her childhood sweetheart, Lin Moyu, and give birth to eight sons for him.
This time, she absolutely would not meet Fu Tingshen again!
Let that lunatic spend the rest of his life alone, forever unable to obtain her love!
Thinking about the agony of suffocation before her death in the previous life, she no longer cared that it was still working hours. Grabbing her bag, she hurriedly ran out.
Seeing this, Sister Huaās lips twitched in anger. Just as she bent down to pick up the scattered papers, a pair of pale jade-like hands reached them first.
āIāll do it.ā
Inside the dim office, the wine-red marble reflected the crystal chandelier overhead. The manās muffled groans sounded especially clear in the silent room.
Fu Tingshenās headache was so intense it felt as though his skull might split apart. Blood vessels spread across the whites of his eyes, making him look like a beast on the verge of losing control.
Just as the pain nearly caused him to pass out, a light knock sounded at the office door. Instantly, hostility filled his eyes as he glared at the entrance.
āGet out,ā Fu Tingshen said coldly.
He heard the knocking stop outside the door.
Just when he thought the person had already left, the door was suddenly pushed open. The harsh white light made him instinctively raise a hand to shield his eyes.
But when he lowered it, the words telling the intruder to leave caught in his throat.
His gaze became completely fixed on the person before him, so stunned that he even forgot to breathe.
Fu Tingshen remained frozen there, hand still half-raised, eyes frighteningly red as he stared blankly at the figure slowly walking toward the desk.
āPresident Fu, these are the documents you requested.ā
Xu Xingheās expression remained calm, a faint smile resting on her lips, as though she did not care at all about the manās vicious demeanor moments earlier.
The woman before him had silky waist-length black hair cascading loosely behind her shoulders, accentuating her gentle oval-shaped face.
Her brows and eyes were slender and elegant, her pupils a warm light brown. When she smiled, two shallow dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth.
Fu Tingshen was like a cat seized by the back of its neck. All of his ferocity vanished the instant he saw her, replaced only by the possessiveness surging in his eyes.
