Synopsis
“I have no plans to get married. I’m going to find a job.”
Patrick Bennett, the eccentric only son of the Count Bennett family, has declared that he will abandon both marriage and his family responsibilities to devote his life to researching new species of plants.
“I’m glad I’m not popular in the marriage market! I’m going abroad to study.”
Beatrice Somerset, the stubborn youngest daughter of the Marquess Somerset family, dreams of studying abroad on her own so that she can establish herself as a professional painter.
These two unconventional socialites, who have driven their parents to despair with their rebellious ways, meet through their connection with “Mr. Greenleaf,” the new director of the Natural History Museum—and Beatrice’s maternal uncle.
“Even if the world were to split in two, I will never propose to Lady Somerset.”
“Do you know something? That’s the most exciting thing a man has ever said to me in my entire life.”
From their very first meeting, the two hit it off remarkably well.
They form an unlikely “Single Alliance,” united by their shared dream of choosing their own paths rather than being forced into marriage.
After a series of twists and turns, they end up working together at the Natural History Museum.
Is it because they spend every day together?
Or because they get along suspiciously well?
Patrick and Beatrice find their hearts constantly fluttering. They become increasingly conscious of each other, helplessly drawn together even by the slightest breeze.
But their journey toward each other proves to be anything but easy…
