~Chapter 18~
“You laugh too much.”
With a deep crease between his brows, Prince William moved from the desk to the sofa — and then, for some reason, plopped down right next to Liliana.
Why sit beside me? Liliana thought in surprise.
The muscular young man, Daniel, stood up while laughing and sat on the opposite sofa across the table from Liliana, where William had been sitting earlier.
Ah, I see.
Although it wasn’t officially decided yet (it was almost certain, but Liliana refused to acknowledge it), it was probably because he didn’t want another man sitting beside his fiancé (even if it was only “temporary”).
He could be considerate in that way, but why couldn’t he match her pace, speak more politely, or treat her more gently?
How very disappointing.
After sitting beside Liliana for a while, William picked up one of the sweets left on the table and suddenly brought it to her mouth.
Liliana, who reflexively opened her mouth and took a bite, immediately thought, “I messed up,” but her mouth was still moving as she chewed.
William smiled faintly, as if agreeing with something in his mind, saying “Hmm,” to no one in particular. Then he picked up another piece of candy and once again brought it to Liliana’s mouth.
Is this some kind of play? Liliana mentally complained furiously.
William just stared at her, showing no intention of lowering his hand.
It was a battle — whether Liliana would give in and eat first, or William would give up and lower his hand first.
Liliana’s eyes were wildly wandering. Whether she thought of it as the same thing twice or not was unclear, but she reluctantly opened her mouth again and took another bite.
It seemed this match had gone in William’s favor.
The muscular young man Daniel, who was supposed to be sitting opposite them, was now laughing so hard he couldn’t even make a sound, his body twitching slightly.
The corners of the ice prince’s lips, which had always been tightly pressed, were now continuously lifted, and the tense, sharp atmosphere seemed to have softened somewhat.
Until all the sweets on the table were gone, Prince William’s “feeding Liliana” time (also known as Liliana’s time of shame) continued.
And Liliana’s small mutterings were swallowed up, never reaching anyone’s ears.
“…I’m thirsty.”
