“Delicious.”
At Shima’s invitation, Akihito had come out for ice cream.
When he heard “ice cream,” he thought they were going to a convenience store or supermarket,
so the taste of the real thing blew him away.
“Shima-kun, how did you even know about a place like this?”
“…Sometimes I come here with my sister.”
The refreshing flavor of the lemon ice spread through his mouth.
Cold and delicious.
“You’re close with your sister, huh.”
“Well… yeah.”
Maybe because they were both focused on eating their ice cream, they didn’t talk much.
Not that they usually talked a lot when they hung out anyway.
“…This ice cream’s really good.”
“Yeah.”
“I might start coming here more often.”
“Yeah.”
Like a machine responding only to sound, Shima gave the same short replies each time.
Come to think of it, this was the first time Shima had invited him somewhere like this.
“Hey… did you hear?”
Akihito asked casually, as if it were nothing.
He didn’t say what he was referring to—probably because he already knew the answer.
“…Yeah.”
