Yu Jin grabbed my arm angrily. His strength was enormous—he pulled me away from Tang Li in one swift motion. Then he lifted his head and looked at Yu Jin.
I hated that I was weaker than Yu Jin. I had been forcibly dragged away just like that, and anger surged in my heart.
It felt as if I had been slapped across the face—burning hot with pain. In an instant, my rage flared.
Why? He brought another woman to the hospital, yet he still had the nerve to come over and grab me?
Yu Jin said furiously, “Who is he? Don’t forget that the child in your belly now carries the blood of our Yu family. And what about that coat you’re wearing—what’s going on? Could it be that you’ve been alone for too long and couldn’t stand it anymore?”
Of course, he knew whose coat it was. Especially when he said the words that coat, he enunciated each word deliberately, emphasizing them one by one.
I looked at him speechlessly and said, “Are you blind? Can’t you see whose it is? You came to the hospital with another woman for a checkup, and I just borrowed someone else’s coat for a moment. Between the two of us, who’s crossing the line—I don’t even need to spell it out!”
When Yu Jin heard that, his anger only intensified. “You really are good at playing dumb. Don’t you have a husband? And yet you go around wearing another man’s coat?”
Taking advantage of his inattention, I slapped his hand away from my chin. With a chill in my voice, I sneered and said, “I don’t have a husband? But isn’t my husband busy accompanying another woman to the hospital to check on the child he has with her? Isn’t that right, husband?”
I hadn’t wanted to argue with Yu Jin—after all, this was a public place. He didn’t care about losing face, but I still felt embarrassed. Yet over such a trivial matter, Yu Jin kept pressing and pressing, leaving me with no choice. I had already suffered so much grievance myself, with nowhere to vent it.
I even laughed. I lifted my head and looked straight at Yu Jin, saying, “Yes, there are plenty of girls who need coats. My husband has given his coat to someone else—so am I supposed to just stand there alone and freeze? Do I deserve that?”
After hearing me say this, Yu Jin showed not the slightest hint of shame. Instead, he became even more unreasonable. “Hmph! I think you stopped caring about me a long time ago. Maybe you don’t even know whose child is in your belly!”
That was when I completely lost my temper. “What? Whose child it is—does that have anything to do with you anymore? If you can’t stand it, then get a divorce! Why put on such a disgusting show here!”
When Yu Jin heard that, not only did he show no sense of guilt, he looked utterly fearless.
Furious, he grabbed my shoulders with both hands. His eyes reddened as he stared at me and said, “Heh, divorce? I gave my coat to someone else—why don’t you ever think about why I did that? If it weren’t for your excessive jealousy, like some shrew, would you really be looking for a way to get back at me now? And you even went straight to your first love. Well? Feels good, doesn’t it?”
I never imagined that even now, Yu Jin still couldn’t understand. He had already brought another woman home, while all I had done was accept someone else’s coat.
I sneered coldly and said, “That’s right. Men really are all the same. When they’re chasing you, they’re gentle as water—but once they’ve got you, you’re nothing. Fine, since you’re tired of this, aren’t you? Well, I’m tired too. Let’s get a divorce.”
I blurted all of that out in one breath, only then realizing that once again, I had touched this man’s bottom line.
Sure enough, my words only made Yu Jin even angrier. Right now, he looked like someone who had been injected with stimulants.
Staring at me, he said each word slowly and clearly, “Ha. Now you want a divorce? Now that you’ve found a better backer, you feel secure enough to talk to me about divorce.”
After hearing that, I felt utterly hopeless—not because I had nowhere to go, but because I couldn’t believe that I had once fallen for someone like this, foolishly thinking I would spend my whole life with the man standing before me.
