Chapter – 59
The Anime Adaptation Uproar
From the workshop and the salon, cheerful voices could be heard,
but the break room was strangely quiet.
When he stepped inside,
Adachi and Makino were still sleeping sprawled out in the middle of the room.
Beside them, Nitta and Saki were also breathing softly in their sleep.
With everything that had happened to Adachi,
everyone must have been worn out.
Seeing them fast asleep even in the break room,
Mukai lay down on an empty sofa as well,
silently hoping that no alarm would go off.
How long had they been sleeping?
They all jolted awake at once when Toria burst in, brimming with excitement.
âWhat?â
âWhat happened?â
Everyone looked toward Toria standing in the doorway.
âGreat news!! That âZombie Boy and the Crimson Holy Grannyâ
has been confirmed for an animated theatrical movie next year!â
âSeriously?â
As fans of the original work,
Nitta, Makino, and Adachi all turned around at the same time.
âIt hasnât even been a year since serialization startedâ
theyâre saying itâs an unprecedented achievement in Okubo Publishingâs history!â
Mukai stared at Toria in surprise as well.
âSo that means Yamakawa-san will continue as an assistant for a while longer?â
âI guess soâŚ?â
âI donât really mind, but does Yamakawa-san actually intend to revive?â
ââŚâŚWho knows? Donât ask me.
But people are saying the story developments are unpredictable,
and thatâs part of why itâs popular,
so Yamakawa seems to be enjoying it.â
âIf a movie comes out, I wanna see itâŚâ
When Adachi said thatâ
âThen letâs go see it together.â
âIf youâre going, Iâm in too.â
Makino and Nitta joined the conversation happily.
Watching the three of them,
Meio peeked in from the doorway with a sulky look.
âLucky you allâŚ
You get to go see it.
I wonât be able toâŚâ
âItâll get broadcast sooner or later anyway,â
Mukai said with a weary expression.
How sharp-earedâŚ
Meio had appeared out of nowhere.
âItâs not the same if you watch it later!!â
Looking thoroughly displeased, Meio headed back to the workshop.
âHeâs not a kidâwhat a troublesome boss,â
Toria sighed and left the room.
âThe screeningâs next year, right? Thatâs still a long way off,â
Saki said as she sat up on the sofa.
âIf Adachi-kun and the others are going,
why donât you buy some novelty goods as souvenirs?
That should cheer him up.â
At Mukaiâs suggestionâ
âI saw Meioâs face up close for the first timeâŚ
It really surprised me,â
Makino muttered.
âHuh? Thatâs what surprised you?â
Mukai burst out laughing.
Seeing how dejected Meio had been,
Mukai hurried to the workshop.
Just as Toria had said,
when their boss got sulky, he could be a bit of a hassle.
With the number of creators increasing,
the workshop was lively.
Each person had their own booth,
but the center was a free space where everyone used shared tools
to work on their creations.
âOhhh, itâs getting made into a movie?
Iâm a yĹkai, so I can freely go in and out of theaters.
Sorry for Meio, but I can go watch it.â
At the central workspace,
KoshirĹ was chatting happily.
âThatâs not fair⌠everyone else gets to go,â
Meio said, sitting down on a chair, pouting.
âI could watch it if it were a TV animeâŚâ
As Mukai was about to speak to himâ
âTheyâre gonna make something for you!â
Sanki ran over to Meio and jumped onto his lap.
Konmo came running too and said with a smile,
âIâm gonna have it made into a hair ornament!â
âThat sounds wonderful.
Youâll become even more beautiful,â
Mukai said.
âEhehe.â
There was no need for Mukai to worryâ
the little ones had already restored Meioâs good mood.
