Im Cheong-ha wakes up after losing consciousness during the G-test and initially thinks she may have been taken to the Air Force Academy’s medical center.
However, the strong smell of incense soon makes her realize that she is actually in a funeral hall.
She sees people dressed in black alongside numerous Air Force uniforms, and then notices the memorial portrait.
To her horror, the woman in the portrait is herself.
Cheong-ha is overwhelmed when she realizes that her own funeral is taking place, apparently ten years in the future.
The chief mourner turns out to be Cheon U-gyeong, who is standing with his head lowered and receiving mourners.
Cheong-ha cannot understand why Cheon U-gyeong is mourning her death, especially because nobody can see or hear her.
Her former classmates from Air Force Academy Class 66 are gathered there as well, now grown older and wearing captain insignia.
They speak sadly about her death and mention that she married immediately after graduation.
Some of them criticize her for being so strict about other cadets’ relationships while apparently making a mistake in her own marriage.
They also mention that one person has gone to prison while another has been dismissed, suggesting that something serious happened surrounding Cheong-ha’s death.
The classmates then talk about someone who has not appeared at the funeral, describing him as the trainee who came from America.
The moment Cheong-ha hears this, she becomes violently nauseous and feels the crushing sensation of gravity again.
The funeral scene fades as she loses consciousness.
Cheong-ha wakes up in the medical center, vomiting into a wastebasket.
She realizes that what she saw felt far too vivid to be an ordinary dream.
The smell of incense, the conversations, the familiar faces, and the gloomy atmosphere all remain incredibly clear in her memory.
She concludes that she has somehow witnessed her own funeral ten years in the future.
She urgently thinks about the mysterious black-box video and wonders whether it might actually be connected to what she has just experienced.
While searching for her phone, she remembers that she left it in the changing room.
As she prepares to leave, she notices movement from the bed beside her.
Through a gap in the curtain, she sees a woman in a military uniform leaning over a male patient and holding his face.
The situation initially looks troubling to Cheong-ha because the patient appears extremely weak and unable to resist.
She wonders whether the patient needs her help and freezes when she accidentally catches his gaze.
His eyes are strikingly dark, with an unusually distinct and deep outline around his pupils.
