Chapter 5
The Disgusting Subjugation
Let’s turn the clock back a little.
Right after I was expelled from the royal castle and thrown out onto the cold stone pavement,
the sound of the heavy doors closing echoed painfully in my chest.
“…Haa…”
I exhaled deeply.
“Ta–Takamiyaaa! Wh–What are you doing running off on your own!?”
A panicked voice called out behind me.
When I turned, a man in a suit was running toward me.
It was my homeroom teacher — Shinichi Sakurai.
The clumsy teacher who always stumbles over his words in class and constantly messes up the boardwork.
“Well, you see… I tripped in front of the king, hahaha… thought I was gonna die there.”
He smiled awkwardly, and I couldn’t help but hold my head in my hands.
“Wait… you got dragged into this too, sensei…?”
At that very moment—
“Command confirmed — commencing subjugation.”
“…Huh?”
Sakurai-sensei’s eyes went vacant, and the next instant, he suddenly dropped to his knees in a dogeza-like pose.
“Your command, my lord!!”
“STOPPPP!!!”
I stumbled backward at full force.
“Subjugating my teacher…? That’s way too gross!!”
Even as I shouted, Sensei started crawling toward me like some devoted servant.
“Wait up! I’m your loyal servant now! Want me to go pick up your chalk!?”
“I don’t need that!!”
“I’ll organize your notes! Print your handouts and distribute them for you!!”
“What kind of help is that!? And all of it’s limited to the classroom!!”
I refused with all my strength.
Then that voice rang again in my head.
“Releasing subjugation — target retreating.”
Sakurai-sensei’s figure vanished in an instant,
like a scrap of paper blown away by the wind—leaving not a trace behind.
“…Haa… Thank god… Not that it was dangerous or anything, just… unbelievably gross.”
I wiped my forehead and sighed deeply.
(Of all people… it had to be my teacher that got subjugated…)
Still unsettled by that weird system, I started walking toward the forest.
And then—
“…I just know he’s gonna pop up again someday…”
As Sakurai-sensei’s presence faded, only silence remained around me.
I let out a long sigh and rested my hands on my knees.
“…Seriously, what the hell…? Why does it only trigger with teachers? Some kind of cosmic prank?”
Muttering bitterly to myself, I continued through the woods.
Eventually, the trees opened up, and I saw a village in the distance.
—And thus, time returned to the present.
Inside the village, farmers, merchants, and even children—all were kneeling before me.
Even Riene had sworn her loyalty, saying, “I will follow you.”
It was a surreal, almost terrifying sight—but undeniably real.
“…Haa…”
I pressed my fingers against my temple and looked around at the villagers who had become my followers.
That was when—
“Hey! There’s someone over here!”
A harsh shout rang out.
From beyond the village gate, rough-looking men in shabby armor stormed in.
Swords at their hips, bows on their backs—they were clearly not ordinary villagers.
“Bandits…?”
“No, soldiers…?”
Riene gasped.
The wolf beside me and I both tensed at once.
The men glanced around the village, then sneered at me.
“Well, look at this. Every villager’s bowing on their knees.”
“So he’s the one controlling them, huh?”
Their glares made their hostility clear.
“…Tch!”
I clenched my fist.
This was the moment—my chance to see how my “Subjugation” skill truly worked.
But I had a bad feeling about it.
And I just knew that ridiculous, comedy-blessed teacher would pop up again someday to mess with me.
Author’s Note
Thank you so much for reading!
In Episode 5, I wanted to show an unexpected comedic twist—Yuto accidentally subjugating his teacher, Mr. Sakurai, right after being exiled.
Though Yuto rejected him in disgust and the teacher vanished, you can bet he’ll reappear later to stir up chaos again.
Meanwhile, the story returns to the present, where ominous forces approach the village.
Next time, we’ll see how Yuto’s unique skill functions in his first real confrontation with outsiders.
Please look forward to it!
