Chapter 2: About Noah Voltaire Wynknight

The development of science and technology, the emergence of thinkers, the corruption of the old church, and the power of capital. There were many causes, but the authority of the monarchy had gradually weakened.

And then, like a comet appearing in the sky, Noah Voltaire Wynknight appeared.

Duke Noah Wynknight was the younger brother of the current king. If the current king was merely “royal blood,” then the duke was “royal jelly blood.”

He was the only son born to the second wife of the late king, who had passed away at a young age, and a daughter of the Wynknight family—a founding family that had served as the backbone of the kingdom’s military forces for generations.

He was, quite literally, the ultimate representative of the conservative faction.

Both the current king and Noah Wynknight possessed exceptional abilities, but due to an unfortunate “scandal” that befell Noah, the throne ultimately went to the current king.

For a while, rumors circulated that the scandal had been fabricated by the current king’s faction, but the truth remained unknown.

After stepping away from the struggle for the throne, he returned as the head of the Wynknight family, and he skillfully lived up to the expectations of the old nobles.

Like a hunting dog, he not only dug into the missing royal seal incident but also exposed the old scandals and corruption of the royal family, criticizing the king. Using his authority as the head of the security forces, he searched through the homes of the new nobles one after another in order to investigate the whereabouts of the royal seal.

The old nobles were currently in the period of using the young, 23-year-old Duke Noah Wynknight as their spearhead to hunt down the new nobles.

Raeliana stared intently at Noah while repeatedly emptying her champagne glass.

He really was handsome. But then again, he had even taken the role of the male lead in a romance novel, so it would be strange if he weren’t.

‘This is going to be difficult.’

After letting out a sigh, Raeliana looked at Noah and thought about her final option.

This was a society where one’s status affected nearly every aspect of life. She needed a man who belonged to a higher position and a stronger family—someone who could stop the power of the Brooks family.

‘A man who holds a card I can trade with.’

Raeliana intended to propose a deal to Noah.

He was not someone who could be moved with money or seduction.

However, in this situation where she felt trapped in a completely sealed-off trap, there was one advantage…

An advantage that only she, someone who came from outside this novel, possessed.

That alone was the card Raeliana could offer.

The problem was whether she could stand as an equal against him in a negotiation.

He was a noble who was experienced down to his very bones. If she underestimated him, there was a high chance that she would be manipulated like an innocent child and lose the only card she possessed.

Raeliana continued thinking while watching his every movement without taking her eyes off him for even a moment.

‘Still, I have to try.’

She had nothing to lose.

Raeliana quietly waited for the right timing.

The words she was about to say to him could not be heard by anyone else.

After watching him for a long time, she saw Noah excuse himself briefly and head toward the garden, so she silently followed behind him.
