Synopsis
“It’ll be unpleasant, so just think of it as a performance.”
Half a year had passed since they began their marriageβa marriage that was nothing more than an act.
Now, it was time.
Time to let him go.
After her family fell into ruin and even her father disappeared without a trace, Anita was left with nowhere to turn.
Lancelot, her longtime childhood friend, became her only refuge.
“Don’t refuse, Anita. Marrying me is the only way to secure your position.”
She believed they had lived a fairly happy married life.
“I think… it’s better to have a child with the woman you truly love.”
“Very well.”
They always tried to be considerate of one another.
“Wouldn’t it be better if I skipped the banquet? People will only gossip.”
“As my wife wishes.”
And they always tried to understand each other.
The more Anita looked back, the more she realized how much she owed Lancelot.
So now…
It was her turn to step aside.
For Lancelot, and for the woman he had chosen to love.
