Chapter 5
The man bowed to Cain and quietly disappeared. His manner of speaking had become more respectful than before. This was because Cainās noble title had changed.
The new surname Cain had acquired was Adrian.
His title was that of a baron, and he had no territory of his own because the estate had been absorbed into the state. But that hardly mattered.
āHaah.ā
Cain let out a long sigh and clenched his right hand tightly.
Without realizing it, his fighting spirit and passion began to burn fiercely.
Fwoooosh.
That passion manifested as a red aura at his fingertips, flickering intensely.
And his ambition for the future only continued to grow.
A life he was about to begin anew.
Cain imagined himself at the end of that life, wearing a dragon robe decorated with golden patterns against a black background.
A sudden shiver ran through him.
His fiercely opened eyes became bloodshot.
Thus, Cain was stepping onto the foundation that would serve as the stepping stone for his next great leap.
āFirst of all, it would be best to become familiar with the people here, just in case. At the very least, I need to ensure that they donāt become suspicious of my arrival. The common people⦠can be surprisingly simple-minded, after all.ā
Cain established his first plan: integrating himself with the local residents.
This was preparation for the future.
In any case, his current noble identity was forged, not genuine. From the perspective of the residents who had lived here and put down roots for generations, Cain might appear to be someone who had suddenly shown up out of nowhere.
To prevent this from becoming a problem later, he needed to earn the residentsā trustāat least in the area around the mansion, which was considered to be within the baronial familyās sphere of influence.
Above all, he could not give them any reason to become suspicious.
Cain made several more detailed plans.
He intended to pretend that he was a distant relative of the Adrian family who had come to the capital to study magic, and that he would only be staying here temporarily because all the people who had lived in the familyās main estate had disappeared.
To prove that he had come to the capital to study magic, he decided to purchase a robe, the symbol of a mage, as well as several old books on magic.
He also planned to find out how the former head family had treated the residents and then treat them in the same way.
Of course, if the family had been known for committing evil deeds, he would do the opposite and perform good deeds instead.
His thoughts were quickly organized.
And Cainās life rapidly began to blend into the new life of Cain Adrian.
