Synopsis
The one and only debutante day at the royal palace of her life.
Giselle, a minor noble from the outskirts, accidentally collides with the prince and ends up sharing a brief, unintended kiss.
But to her, it was nothing more than a tiny incident.
āHow dare youā¦ā
A small, heart-pounding mishap that could be laughed off.
āGoodness⦠a wretched little⦠pony of a thing.ā
To this prince, it seemed to be the worst experience of his life.
What began as a small accident quickly escalates into a scandal, and the prince proposes a temporary engagement to Giselle to manage the situation. Bringing gold as part of the deal, the prince asks what she wants in returnā¦
āOn the condition that you play the role of my fiancĆ©e, you want me to give you a husband?ā
āI came all the way to the capital to find a husband to bring back to my estate, after all.ā
The princeās face twisted in an expression of inexplicable displeasure.
He then lectured her on how difficult the role of a fiancƩe is, criticizing her behavior. Even though it had been just an accident, he still assumed her kiss was intentional.
āHonestly⦠I donāt really understand why youāre making such a fuss over just one kiss?ā
The prince, whose face looked like no needle could ever pierce it, chose only words that would make anyone angryābut then he froze.
āWas that kind of contact really that significant? During the past few days at what they call the balls, everyone has done far worse, so whatās the big deal?ā
āā¦What?ā
āI thought it was just a small incident. Was I wrong? I really donāt understand whatās so unfair about itā¦ā
Giselle glanced at the gold still sparkling at the princeās feet, enticing her, and slowly stood up.
Thereās no need to ruin a good deal by making the prince uncomfortable just before itās finalized. She clasped her hands politely and bowed her head.
āI will do my best.ā
Thereās nothing she canāt do when sheās being offered both money and a husbandāthe two things she needs most right now.
āIn return, Iāll also take as much as I earn for my efforts.ā
Giselle met the princeās narrowing eyes squarely.
āIf I do well, give me more money.ā
And she smiled brightly.
āLots of it.ā
Seeing a woman smile so shamelessly, Joachim realizedā
A mutant, uncontrollable force had invaded his perfect greenhouse.
