Synopsis
Tracy, the young duchess of a family abandoned by the very kingdom her ancestors sacrificed their lives to protect, flees with her little sister in order to survive.
During their escape, she receives an offer from Todd, a negotiator from the enemy nation.
“If you fight in this war, then after it ends, you can become a duchess by marrying me.”
“Shouldn’t your little sister receive the same treatment she had before?”
For the sake of her younger sister, who knows nothing of the world’s hardships, Tracy accepts his proposal and becomes a sniper.
After a grueling year and a half of war, peace negotiations are finally concluded. At the victory banquet, Todd publicly announces their engagement.
There, Tracy meets Valentin, Todd’s close friend from his years studying abroad.
“This is our second meeting.”
“…Second meeting? We’ve never met before.”
“No, this is indeed the second time. You saved my life.”
Three ornate insignias adorned his shoulder.
A colonel from an allied nation.
As Tracy awkwardly adjusted her posture, he looked slightly disappointed before saying,
“We’ll be seeing each other often from now on, so please be comfortable around me.”
He gently lifted the hand she offered and pressed it to his lips.
“My savior.”
The hands that had taken countless lives became, at least in that moment, hands that had saved one.
