Episode 63 

Rosana’s wailing grew louder and more dramatic. She sounded so… trivial. Eliano remembered how terrified her father was—wetting himself in fear of Flint Howard. He’d been broken completely… tut, tut.

Flint’s servants muttered insults at the Duke:

“He’s like a terrible actor—getting praised even after wallowing in mud…”

“What a ridiculous spectacle…”

Eliano mused that perhaps her talent for acting came from her father. She signaled, and Jane began pushing her chair. The foldable seat rolled to the front gate.

Then Eliano raised a magical megaphone and spoke:

“Father, I’m truly happy. You know I wasn’t kidnapped.”

Her clear, firm voice cut through the chaos. Rosana the Duke looked shocked—no doubt expecting a frightened child, not this bold young woman.

Eliano continued:

“I have been seeing Lord Flint Howard for a long time. You always opposed it because of Howard’s past. But I love Flint. He didn’t kidnap me—if anyone violated me, it was me, when I went to his bed. Please, if you wish to blame someone, blame me.”

That was enough to stun everyone—imagine responding to daddy’s fussing like that!

But Rosana roared back through the megaphone:

“Ria! Have you gone mad?!? My own daughter… oh dear heart!”

Unfazed, Eliano responded in a sorrowful act:

“Oh father… I’m sorry…” (fake tears)

Rosana screamed again:

“That cunning villain! Howard… what did he do to you?!”

Eliano had to push on:

“Father, we’ve been under the stars together for countless nights. You’ve stood against us—how could you?”

“Flint and I signed a marriage contract. I am now Lady Howard. Don’t insult my husband.”

Rosana screamed “Ria!” but Eliano kept going:

“Father, I can’t live a day without Flint. Only his arms allow me peace. I don’t want your jewels—I want Flint’s burning love.”

A hush fell—some gasped, some blushed, others fainted. Adel trembled at the boldness.

Eliano slammed it home:

“I’m tired of being mocked for not marrying and wasting the family fortune. Even Damien would mock me as pathetic.”

Then mocking her father’s moustache:

“By the way, father… is your beard okay now? I hope it grew back fast.”

You see, the Duke’s beard was false, and she teased him mercilessly.

Rosana, furious, stomped forward. A court arrow grazed the megaphone—a servant had shot it.

Rosana screamed:

“Verdy Hiren! How dare you?!”

Silence. Only distant crows cawed.

Embarrassed, Rosana charged forward—but Flint’s knights blocked her.

One servant grabbed Rosana’s fake beard accidentally—it pulled out by the root. Rosana let out a shriek.

Eliano spoke up cheerfully:

“Father, you should invest in a real beard—yours is gone! At least you didn’t wet yourself today. For once, you kept dignity—I’d hate to say you were truly ugly that day.”

Rosana, enraged, screamed:

“You wretched girl! You dare disrespect me—your father?! I’ll kill you myself!”
