“What are you talking about?” An Jianqing frowned even more and asked, “Did my little aunt’s attitude upset you?”

“I don’t even care!” Su Ya argued loudly. She wanted to explain how she felt, but she could not find the right words. She waved her hands and said, “It’s just… a different kind of dislike… I don’t know how to say it. Anyway, your sister is a bit strange.”

“You’re the strange one. You’re saying things people can’t understand,” An Jianqing said unhappily.

Su Ya became anxious. She was just about to think of the right word when she saw someone coming from the corner of her eye.

The thought in her mind disappeared in fright. She quickly hid her expression and pointed at a tree, pretending to admire it.

“Jianqing, look at this tree. It’s so big. I guess even three people holding hands couldn’t hug it.”

An Jianqing felt this topic was a bit silly. Seeing the figure getting closer, she cooperated. “Mm. If you like it, I can give it to you.”

Su Ya looked at her in disbelief and complained in a very small voice, “Do you even know how to say romantic words? You can even think of giving someone a tree.”

Su Ya gave up and continued the act. “It grew up here. Moving it away would be too cruel. How can I be so selfish and take away its home?”

An Jianqing felt goosebumps all over her body. She said coldly, “The wind is strong at night. We should go back.”

Su Ya quickly nodded. She did not want to continue acting in such a silly scene.

The two of them walked out from behind the tree and saw Ning Xuechu standing two steps away.

Under the moonlight, the girl wore a long dress. Her black hair was blown by the night wind. She raised her hand to tuck it behind her ear, revealing a pure and gentle smile.

An Jianqing was slightly stunned by her beauty. After a moment, she asked softly, “Xuechu, why are you here?”

“I saw that you hadn’t gone back yet, Sister, so I came to check. What were you talking about?” Ning Xuechu tilted her head slightly, hands placed in front of her, looking curious.

“Nothing,” An Jianqing said. After thinking for a moment, she reached out and grabbed Su Ya’s wrist.

Su Ya did not expect it. She stumbled forward from the sudden pull.

She slightly regretted taking this job.

An Jianqing was really a failure as a lover. She could not say sweet words, nor could she show care and warmth. She wondered who would be so unlucky to date and marry An Jianqing in the future.

Ning Xuechu stood there, watching the two of them walk past her hand in hand.

For a moment, she wanted to push Su Ya away and pull An Jianqing into her arms.

But that thought only flashed for a second before she forced it down.

She silently followed behind them, her eyes fixed tightly on their backs.

She came here because she was worried the two of them might do something intimate in the dark night.

Although An Jianqing was also an Omega, except for marking, couples could still do intimate things.

Just thinking about An Jianqing showing a flushed face in front of someone else made anger rise uncontrollably in her heart.

She would never let this Omega named Su Ya take away the person who belonged to her.

An Jianqing brought Su Ya back to the room. When she saw Ning Xuechu still following them, she turned back in confusion.

“Xuechu, is there something?”

“Sister, I can’t sleep. I want to watch a movie in your room. Is that okay?” Ning Xuechu said softly. At the end, she lowered her head pitifully.

Since she had asked like that, An Jianqing could not refuse. She glanced at Su Ya, asking with her eyes.

Su Ya immediately shook her head. She still felt something was wrong with Ning Xuechu.

“Come in. Choose a movie you want to watch,” An Jianqing said, letting go of Su Ya’s hand and walking toward the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of running water came from inside.

Su Ya pouted unhappily and followed into the bathroom.

As expected, she saw An Jianqing washing her hands, as if she disliked her.

Su Ya also stepped forward to wash her hands and complained softly, “You already agreed to let her in. Why did you ask for my opinion?”

“Just for formality,” An Jianqing replied while drying her hands.

Su Ya rolled her eyes. “Don’t hold hands next time. Not only do you have to wash your hands, I have to wash mine too. It’s troublesome.”

“Mm,” An Jianqing answered calmly.

While drying her hands, Su Ya suddenly asked, “When you hold your sister’s hand, do you also wash your hands?”

An Jianqing paused and frowned. “What are you trying to say?”

“Nothing.” Su Ya quickly shook her head. After hesitating, she said, “I just feel it’s strange. Your sister is strange. You’re strange too. But I can’t say what’s strange. I almost thought of it just now, but when your sister came out, I forgot what I wanted to say.”

An Jianqing frowned and her expression turned cold.

“Why do you always defend her?” Su Ya asked in confusion. “Every time I mention her, you get unhappy and argue with me.”

An Jianqing’s heart tightened. She quickly said, “She’s my sister. Of course I protect her.”

That reason sounded very reasonable and erased the strange feeling in Su Ya’s heart.

Su Ya smiled in sudden understanding. “That’s true. She’s your sister. It’s normal for you to treat her specially.”

An Jianqing’s heartbeat suddenly sped up. She lowered her eyes and said nothing.

“But you’re not real sisters. If you treat her so well, maybe she’ll misunderstand,” Su Ya reminded her.

“She won’t. Xuechu is very innocent. She only depends on me as family,” An Jianqing refuted instinctively.

She spoke a little too quickly, losing her usual calmness. It sounded more like she was trying to cover something.

Su Ya only felt that it was strange. But this was someone else’s family matter. It was not her place to interfere, so she stopped talking.

The two walked out one after the other.

When they saw Ning Xuechu standing by the door, An Jianqing was slightly startled and could not help worrying that their conversation had been overheard.
