An Jianqing couldn’t help but smile and picked up a piece of meat for Ning Xuechu, placing it on her plate. She spoke softly, “Tomorrow I happen to have a contract to sign. We’ll be on the same bus and at the same hotel. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me.”
Hearing this, Ning Xuechu felt a surge of happiness in her heart.
She had deliberately acted earlier, hoping An Jianqing would say exactly this.

An Jianqing also felt reassured, a faint smile curling on her lips.

“Xuechu, pick two that you like,” An Jianqing said, putting down the clothes.
Ning Xuechu looked carefully and chose two outfits that An Jianqing had worn more often.
If Du Rong saw her tomorrow, she would definitely recognize that Ning Xuechu was wearing An Jianqing’s clothes. It would be interesting to see her expression.
“Thank you, Sister. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have known what to do,” Ning Xuechu said gratefully, gently hugging An Jianqing.
An Jianqing stiffened at first but relaxed when she saw Ning Xuechu’s pure smile, not rejecting the hug.

She inhaled lightly and detected a faint, pleasant fragrance, different from her own clothes.
Ning Xuechu smiled softly and turned off the lights to sleep.
In her dreams, she seemed to follow the scent, chasing a vague figure.
She wanted to see the person’s face clearly, but a harsh voice pierced her ears.
Ning Xuechu opened her eyes, a sense of disappointment filling her heart. She couldn’t immediately tell if it was reality or illusion.
Lying in bed for a while, she finally woke fully and turned off the noisy alarm.
She quickly washed up, did her makeup, dressed, and stepped out.
Opening the door, she saw An Jianqing just coming out—their backs coincidentally aligned with the figure in her dream.

“Are you really okay? Don’t be too nervous,” An Jianqing reassured her.
Ning Xuechu nodded and went ahead, descending the stairs before An Jianqing.
An Jianqing felt a little strange but couldn’t put it into words.
At the dining table, Ning Xuechu remained silent, focusing on her breakfast without even lifting her head.
