Chapter 2
Our family has a sickly younger daughter.
She is also my twin sister, Berinoal Sole ≠ Neferiate.
Her nickname is Sole.
And Sole is unbelievably adorable!!
Her hair is silver, just like mine, but her eyes are different.
Sole has heterochromia—her right eye is silver, and her left eye is gold.
Both of my eyes are gold, but for some reason, Sole alone has silver mixed in.
What’s more, depending on how the light hits them, her eyes seem to change colors, sparkling brilliantly.
They’re incredibly beautiful.
Sole will turn sixteen in two months.
Normally, a sixteen-year-old would already be attending the academy.
But Sole can’t.
She doesn’t have the stamina to attend classes, and she catches colds far too easily.
Whenever I come home from the academy—
“Welcome home, Yu-brother.”
She always greets me like that.
But her eyes always look so sad.
The time Sole escaped from her bed, everyone panicked.
Even Al-brother, who is usually calm and composed, completely lost his composure.
At the time, I was so frightened that I actually wondered if Sole was going to die.
After that, I realized that Sole stubbornly kept trying to escape from her bed over and over again.
So I ended up being assigned to watch over her.
And then today, Sole looked up at me with teary eyes and adorably said:
“I want to go outside.”
…
To be honest, I’m more worried about whether the rest of the family will approve than anything else.
Especially the most dangerous one of all—
Father.
Berinoal Mishnight ≠ Neferiate.
If it’s for Sole’s sake, Father abandoning his work and barricading himself at home is practically an everyday occurrence.
Because of that, everyone around him always seems exhausted.
The worst incident was when Sole slipped out of bed and nearly lost consciousness.
Father stayed by her side for almost two weeks straight.
As a result, his work piled up endlessly.
I even remember the king personally ordering him to return to his duties.
It was chaos.
Sigh…
I want to grant Sole’s wish, but whether she gets permission to go outside depends entirely on what everyone else says.
Hmm…
Well, it’ll probably work out somehow.
…
Probably…
Knock, knock.
“Come in.”
“Excuse me.”
Al-brother entered the room.
“Sole wants to go outside.”
…
…
…
Ahem.
I must have misheard something.
Al, would you mind repeating that?
You clearly heard me if you’re asking me to repeat it!!
Sigh…
Ahem.
Sole wants to go outside.
…
What did you say!?
Absolutely not!
There’s no way we can allow that!
Al, what are you talking about?!
Why didn’t you stop her?!
Impossible!!
If an angel as adorable as Sole walked around outside, she’d obviously get attacked!
And besides, Sole was bedridden until recently!
You know that, don’t you!?
And yet you’re suggesting this!?
After a family meeting, Sole was granted permission to go outside into the garden under certain conditions.
