Chapter 22
If I Die, Will You Be Sad?
The business trip was suddenly canceled.
Shi Yushen never left.
The moment he returned home, he kicked aside the shoes near the entrance irritably and glanced inside.
But the house was completely quiet.
Shi Yushen walked upstairs and habitually called out:
“Suīsui.”
No response.
“Where the hell did he go? Did he die somewhere?”
Could it be that while he was supposedly away on a business trip, Lin Suian had run outside and stayed out all night?
Shi Yushen called him.
But the ringtone came from somewhere inside the room.
Lin Suian had not even taken his phone.
Shi Yushen impatiently hung up.
…….
The flashlight finally died.
On such a steep mountain slope, Lin Suian could neither go up nor down safely.
Carefully moving step by step, he suddenly slipped.
“Ah—!”
With a painful scream, Lin Suian rolled down from above and crashed into a pile of rocks.
Slowly, he covered his lower abdomen with trembling hands.
A sharp rock had torn open his skin deeply, and dark red blood continuously poured out.
He struggled to breathe.
But the pain was unbearable.
“Am I really going to die here…”
Lin Suian forced himself upright, trying to stop the bleeding with shaking hands, but no matter what he did, the blood would not stop.
If he died here, probably nobody would care.
Except for his bedridden mother.
She would probably cry after hearing he was gone.
But very quickly, Lin Suian stopped himself from thinking that way.
His mother had already suffered enough.
How could she continue enduring pain and also experience the agony of losing her son?
That would be too unfair to her.
Nobody knew how much blood he lost.
When Lin Suian struggled to stand again, his entire body was already weak and numb. After only a few steps, he collapsed onto the blood-covered ground once more.
Yet his strong desire to survive still remained in his empty eyes.
“Help me…”
“I still don’t want to die…”
There were still so many things he had not done yet.
He crawled forward weakly with trembling fingers when suddenly, a bright light appeared in the distance.
Lin Suian thought Mu Xiaoyang had come.
Using all his remaining strength, he hoarsely shouted:
“Mu Xiaoyang… I’m here…”
But his voice was too weak.
The other person could not hear clearly.
Soon, a tall shadow approached him like a dark wall.
Before Lin Suian could even see the face clearly, he already felt a terrifying wave of anger rushing toward him.
Instinctively, he shrank backward.
This time, he was really finished.
A pleasant voice sounded—
But the words were terrible.
“Lin Suian, you really made me search everywhere for you. Are you bored out of your mind? Running into the wilderness to feed wild pigs?”
It was Shi Yushen.
Shi Yushen tossed the flashlight aside and sneered.
“This damn place? I wouldn’t even come here for outdoor sex.”
Just to find him, Shi Yushen had specially hired a helicopter in the middle of the night and flown into the mountains.
Unfortunately, the road was too steep, so he still had to walk part of the way.
Brushing dirt off his clothes, Shi Yushen stepped closer before suddenly smelling the heavy scent of blood in the air.
He frowned immediately.
“What happened to you?”
The moment he reached out, his fingers were stained red with blood.
Lin Suian’s face was pale as paper.
In a trembling voice, he explained:
“I accidentally fell and got hurt.”
“I wrapped the wound with my coat already. It’s not bleeding anymore.”
Afraid Shi Yushen would blame him too much, he deliberately added that last sentence.
“Enough. Get up here.”
With Shi Yushen’s temper, he normally would have cursed several more times before calming down.
But seeing Lin Suian looking half-dead, he no longer had the mood.
Lin Suian had completely lost his strength.
Barely able to speak, he trembled and said:
“I can’t stand anymore… it really hurts…”
“If you can’t stand, then just die here and let wild animals tear you apart.”
Shi Yushen’s words were cold and heartless.
But in the very next second, he bent down, lifted Lin Suian from the ground, and carried him into his arms.
Curled against Shi Yushen’s chest, Lin Suian felt warmth completely different from his own freezing body.
Tears filled his eyes.
“My whole body hurts so much… I lost so much blood… Am I really going to die?”
His voice was tiny and hoarse, sounding almost like final words before death.
Reluctant.
Unwilling.
Painfully sad.
“If I really die… will you let me go?”
Shi Yushen’s Adam’s apple moved slightly.
His emotions could not be heard in his voice.
“Let you go from what?”
If the person Shi Yushen met that day had not been Lin Suian, he probably still would have kept someone else around for temporary amusement.
But fate had made them meet.
Shi Yushen paid money.
A transaction was made.
He bought Lin Suian.
So Lin Suian belonged to him.
Lin Suian closed his eyes as tears slipped from the corners of them.
Grabbing tightly onto Shi Yushen’s clothes, he spoke honestly.
“Actually, I like girls. My biggest wish in this life is for my mother to live happily and healthily… and watch me get married someday.”
Then their family of four could live peacefully together and spend an ordinary life.
“If you let me go… maybe I can become like before again.”
Lin Suian forced out a bitter smile while tears continued falling.
Shi Yushen coldly replied:
“Stop dreaming.”
Then, as if making a declaration, he continued:
“You won’t die. You won’t leave my side. And you’ll never be with anyone else.”
Lowering his elegant eyes, Shi Yushen smiled coldly and provocatively.
His deep voice sounded strangely gentle, but the words were cruel.
“Suīsui, I’ve never seen something that’s already been fucked by a man still able to get hard again and go chase women.”
“Lin Suian, your life is already ruined.”
“……”
Because of excessive blood loss, Lin Suian fainted.
On the way back, Shi Yushen called an ambulance.
They quickly gave Lin Suian a blood transfusion and treated his wounds, finally saving his life.
Shi Yushen later walked into the changing room and removed the blood-covered shirt on his body.
His skin was naturally pale, so even the smallest stain stood out clearly.
That day, Shi Yushen originally intended to throw the bloody shirt into the trash.
But for some unknown reason—
Maybe he had gone crazy for a moment.
Instead, he carefully put the shirt away and secretly hung it in the deepest corner of the closet like he was hiding something shameful.
Shi Yushen did not know then—
That from this small action onward, it would later affect almost the rest of his life.
