Chapter 1
Abandoned Again
The basement.
Lin Suian’s hands were cuffed together. In the freezing cold, burning candles were pressed between his legs, the flames scorching his skin with unbearable pain.
He woke from a nightmare, his consciousness still hazy and unclear.
Everything before his eyes was blurry. He could only see a tall figure ahead slowly approaching him.
“Shen Mo… don’t leave me…”
The chains around his wrists clanged loudly as he struggled.
Like someone grabbing onto the last straw that could save his life, Lin Suian reached forward in panic.
“Who are you calling?”
A hoarse and low voice sounded out, instantly making Lin Suian’s mind go blank, leaving behind only endless fear and terror.
It wasn’t Shen Mo.
Shen Mo had still sent him away.
He had been abandoned again.
Lin Suian was dazed. Before he could sink into that sorrowful feeling, Shi Yushen forcefully grabbed his face and made him look up.
His tone was cold, hovering on the edge of anger.
“What are you pretending to stay silent for? I’m asking you, who were you calling just now?”
It felt as if a knife had been stabbed into Lin Suian’s throat. The pain was so intense he could barely speak, leaving only the metallic taste of blood in his mouth.
“Shen Mo.”
Lin Suian said the name in despair.
Hearing him answer, Shi Yushen smiled, but the cruelty and darkness in his eyes could not be hidden.
“What? You stayed with him for only two years, and you already think you belong to him?”
“Yes.”
Lin Suian stubbornly answered without showing weakness.
Shi Yushen looked down at him coldly, tightening his grip even harder.
“You slept with him?”
“Yes.”
He repeated again.
The moment those words fell, the man above him completely lost his temper.
A shadow flashed past, and a hard slap landed on Lin Suian’s face.
The hit made his cheek go numb, and blood slowly flowed from the corner of his lips.
“Shi Yushen, this is enough to make you angry?”
He let out a cold laugh.
The memories from years ago flashed through his mind like scenes from a movie.
But Lin Suian remembered them clearly.
On that stormy night, he turned all of his hatred into a knife and stabbed it fiercely into Shi Yushen’s heart.
Shi Yushen begged him not to leave and said he wanted him to stay.
But Lin Suian never looked back. With blood on his hands, he fled in panic and started a brand-new life.
He had thought they would never meet again in this lifetime.
But unexpectedly—
Shi Yushen’s obsession and madness were beyond his imagination.
He had still fallen back into his hands once again.
Lin Suian stopped caring and deliberately provoked him further.
“Not only was I together with Shen Mo, I even begged him to take me. When we got tired on the bed, we went to the floor, the living room, the sofa… we did it from night until morning…”
Shi Yushen’s expression changed instantly. His eyes turned red from anger as he completely lost the last bit of reason left in him.
Like a furious beast, he grabbed Lin Suian by the throat so hard he could barely breathe.
“You bitch, I’ll kill you! How dare you treat me like this!”
Shi Yushen was usually calm. He rarely lost control and shouted at anyone like this.
Lin Suian’s desperate resistance made him furious.
Especially when he imagined Lin Suian beneath another man, and now even protecting that man like some loyal lover, Shi Yushen completely exploded.
He violently tore open the thin shirt on Lin Suian’s body.
A bloodless executioner would never show mercy to the souls in his hands.
After only a few rough movements, Lin Suian was already in so much pain that his features twisted. He could only let out low unwilling whimpers while his teeth trembled uncontrollably.
Word by word, he said:
“Shi Yushen, I hate you.”
“How can there be hate without love?”
Just like before, Shi Yushen still wore the elegant and gentle appearance outsiders admired, while doing things that were anything but human.
He sneered coldly and asked:
“Sui Sui, did you ever love me?”
Hearing that familiar “Sui Sui,” Lin Suian felt as though he had fallen into an icy abyss. His blood seemed to freeze.
He did not answer.
His chest hurt terribly, like someone had ripped out one of his ribs.
At this point, he could not even shed a single tear anymore.
Then suddenly—
Shi Yushen said softly,
“You never loved me. But back then… I truly did care about you.”
Lin Suian closed his eyes. Darkness filled his vision.
He smiled bitterly.
“You’re lying.”
“You liar… I won’t believe you ever again.”
Even if he could do it all over again—
He still wouldn’t.
