Chapter 65
 School Festival, Day 2 (âŁ)
“Alright, shall we go to the campfire?”
“Are you going there in that outfit?”
“Apparently, one of the Home Economics Clubâs requirements for this costume is that we have to participate in the campfire while wearing it. I donât really need to follow that rule, though.”
So that was one of the conditions for the clubâs costume-making.
Because of that, Seiya, Amatsu, and Tsukiyo would participate in the campfire in their outfits. Since the three of them looked so good in them, they would probably be surrounded by people.
“Well then, letâs all go! Ah, senpai.”
Sera-san called out.
“Please take care of Tsukiyo~”
“Huh?”
Seiya, Amatsu, Sera-san, and Urahara-san walked toward the sports field.
They just left Tsukiyo sitting there⊠heartlessâor maybe they were doing it on purpose.
“Tsukiyo.”
Tsukiyo flinched at the sound of her name.
“Just like we practiced⊠itâs just like we practiced.”
I had heard that holding hands would be enough, but that was a lie. From the start, I had planned to kiss her on the cheek.
It wasnât like anyone would do, but⊠well.
Tsukiyo stood up smoothly and turned around.
Night had fully fallen, leaving only the glow of the streetlights⊠but the beauty of the Moon Princess remained dazzling.
Not only that, through the moonlight, she seemed to shine even more brilliantly.
Truly⊠this was the legendary Princess Kaguya.
“Even if itâs like we practiced⊠I wouldnât have done it with anyone but TaiyĆ-san!”
“âŠ!”
Tsukiyo stepped close to me and shouted almost desperately. But then she slumped slightly⊠adding that it was just âwithin this manâs imaginationâ afterward made me laugh at how cute it was.
Tsukiyo groaned again, holding her head, and I took out my camera from the bag I had brought along.
I framed the most beautiful Moon Princess in my viewfinder.
“Ah, geez!”
Tsukiyo smiled sweetly⊠and looked my way.
“Properly.”
“Youâve always been beautiful, Tsukiyo.”
“ââ! You always say that whenever you pick up a camera!”
Her shy side was just as charming. I took pictures of the Moon Princess, whose glow did not fade even in the night.
Then, from the sports field, the music âOklahoma Mixerâ began to play. It was dance time.
“Ah, we should probably head back⊔
Tsukiyo also had to go to the sports field in her costume, according to the Home Economics Clubâs rules. Once she went there⊠we probably wouldnât be able to talk anymore today.
IâŠ
“Tsukiyo.”
“Yes?”
“Um⊠I love you⊠from the bottom of my heart, right?”
“Eh!? Th-thatâs about the acting, though⊔
I extended my hand toward the bewildered Tsukiyo.
“So⊠would you dance with me, just once⊠Moon Princess?”
“Ah⊠yes.”
Tsukiyo noticed my intention, and her slight hesitation disappeared as she took my hand. I had never danced with a girl before⊠but clumsily, I followed the steps.
Tsukiyo moved lightly and followed along with a smile. She was dancing gracefully despite wearing such a large, layered costume, like a twelve-layered kimono.
“Iâm glad I could dance with TaiyĆ-san.”
“âŠâŠ”
Me too.
I would never forget dancing with the most beautiful Princess Kaguya in my life.
âââ
Around the campfire, everyone was laughing and chatting happily.
Tsukiyo, dressed as the Moon Princess, was surrounded by an overwhelming number of people calling out to her.
Because of her layered costume, everyone called her Princess Kaguya. Moreover, about twenty male students lined up and confessed to her all at once.
Naturally⊠Tsukiyo rejected them all. She was the perfect template of Princess Kaguya.
Hehe, at this rate, it would be impossible to invite her to dance. Many boys hung their heads in defeat.
Amatsu, dressed as the Prince of Heaven, was actively inviting Urahara-san to dance.
Unaccustomed to this kind of attention, Urahara-san panicked, but Sera-san behind her gave a push, and the two began dancing.
Amatsu was completely taking over from the outside, no longer hiding his feelings.
Meanwhile, my best friend, Seiya, dressed as the Star Prince, was surrounded by girls just like Tsukiyo, but the girls were so aggressive that he had to dance with them one after another. Even Seiya seemed to reach his limit.
I should go⊠and help him out.
“This really was a fun school festival.”
The once-in-a-lifetime second-year school festival had come to an end.
And soon⊠the Sports Festival would begin.
