Chapter 3: An Ambiguous Woman
The more Guan Ju thought about it, the more annoyed she became.
Lying on the hospital bed, she decided to try doing a few push-ups.
The result was humiliating.
The moment she lowered herself, both arms started trembling uncontrollably. She couldn’t even push herself back up.
I’m way too weak…
Pouting slightly, Guan Ju sat on the bed and silently began drafting an exercise plan in her head.
Just as she became absorbed in thought, the door to the room opened.
Click.
The sound was sharp and distinct, accompanied by the crisp tapping of high heels.
Guan Ju snapped back to attention. She quickly lay down again, composed her expression, and stared calmly at the newcomer.
The first thing she saw was an enormous bouquet of vibrant red roses.
The flowers were so large they completely hid the person’s face behind them. All Guan Ju could see was a black mini skirt and a pair of long, slender legs.
As the woman approached, a faint perfume drifted through the air.
It wasn’t unpleasant, but mixed with the hospital’s disinfectant smell, it created a strangely discordant scent.
Guan Ju frowned slightly.
Instinctively, she disliked this woman.
Who brought roses to visit a patient?
“Director Guan, guess who I am?”
A smiling female voice floated from behind the flowers, soft and flirtatious.
Guan Ju’s frown deepened. She stared at the woman without a word, making no effort whatsoever to play along.
Receiving no response, the woman let out a coquettish little “Hm?” before finally lowering the bouquet.
A heavily made-up face appeared.
The kind of makeup that looked more suited to a nightclub than a hospital.
What stood out even more was the revealing camisole she wore, exposing a generous amount of cleavage and giving her an unmistakably mature, seductive air.
Guan Ju turned her head away.
She had no desire to engage with this person.
The woman set the roses aside and approached the bed with a smile. Bending slightly at the waist, she said in a sweet, complaining tone,
“Director Guan, don’t tell me you’ve really lost your memory?”
As she spoke, she folded her arms beneath her chest, making her figure appear even more prominent.
Even lying down, Guan Ju couldn’t help noticing the impressive view.
This was blatant seduction.
“Who are you?” Guan Ju asked coolly, keeping her gaze fixed straight ahead.
The woman pouted.
Leaning even closer, she lowered her voice deliberately, her warm breath carrying a teasing intimacy.
“Director Guan, if you don’t remember me, surely you remember these, right?”
As she spoke, she thrust her chest forward slightly, a seductive smile playing on her lips.
Guan Ju was so startled she instinctively shifted away, carefully making sure she didn’t touch the woman.
Only then did she reply coldly,
“Don’t stand so close. I don’t know you.”
A flash of surprise crossed the woman’s eyes.
But instead of retreating, she became even more enthusiastic.
She lifted one leg onto the bed and leaned forward until her upper body was almost pressed against the person lying there.
“How about now, Director Guan? Remember anything?”
Guan Ju could feel her arm pressed against something impossibly soft.
Instinctively, she tried to pull away, but the woman was leaning on her too firmly for her to move.
Annoyance flashed across her face.
“You… get up…”
The moment the words left her mouth, a faint blush began creeping across her cheeks.
She suddenly looked flustered and at a loss.
Noticing the change, the woman smiled triumphantly.
In a sweet, spoiled tone, she asked again,
“Director Guan, do you remember now?”
Just a few simple words.
Yet somehow they sounded unbearably suggestive.
Guan Ju grew even more irritated.
She struggled to scoot backward, but the weight pinning her down made it impossible.
The more anxious she became, the brighter the woman’s smile grew.
Realizing the woman was doing this intentionally, Guan Ju’s expression turned icy.
“Get up. Right now.”
The woman remained unmoved.
Both legs were now on the bed.
From an outsider’s perspective, she looked as though she were practically sprawled across Guan Ju’s body. Their posture was so intimate that anyone seeing it would misunderstand.
At that moment, Bai Weixi entered the room carrying a lunch container.
The scene before her caused a flicker to pass through her eyes.
Without saying a word, she quietly walked to the side.
