Marie had accidentally told another maid that Princess Helens could speak. Although she had begged the maid to keep it secret, the rumor quickly spread throughout the palace.
Marie sincerely apologized, and although Helens was upset, she decided there was no point blaming her. Instead, she asked Marie for a favor: to contact Count Divine or his younger son, Betin Divine, and tell him that Princess Helens wanted to secretly meet someone named Roman as soon as possible.
Betin immediately informed his father. Count Divine was shocked because he had heard the rumors about Helens speaking but had assumed they were false. He and Betin went to find Roman that same night.
When Roman heard that Princess Helens wanted to meet him, he immediately used a teleportation scroll and arrived at the northern forest near the old banquet hall where Helens was imprisoned.
Roman was startled when the beast-like princess greeted him in a perfectly clear voice. He instinctively stepped backward, but Helens noticed.
Roman then asked how Helens knew that he was the secretary of the dragon Galian. Helens had only guessed that he was some kind of servant, which embarrassed Roman.
Roman explained that Galian did not place Helensās curse. One of Galianās disciples had done it, and even Galian himself could not remove the curse.
Helens became frustrated but controlled herself because she still needed Romanās help.
Roman asked how Helens had suddenly gained the ability to speak and how she knew so much about him. Helens explained that she had ādied onceā and then awakened again, and claimed that Galian had appeared during that experience. She also mentioned highly specific information about Count Divineāinformation that only Roman and the count should have known.
Roman realized that Helens could not possibly have learned those details during her ten years of imprisonment. He therefore began believing that something extraordinary had happened to her.
Eventually, Roman said he needed to report everything to Galian before taking further action. He used another teleportation scroll and disappeared in a flash of golden light.
Helens was amazed by the magic.
Then a mysterious black-haired man surrounded by dark energy suddenly appeared behind her. His appearance reminded Helens of a grim reaper, frightening her badly. She instinctively shoved him away with her enormous beast strength.
The man flew backward and struck the wall. Helens soon realized that he was actually a human and that he had been injured.
Before she could figure out what to do, she heard several people approaching from the forest.
The situation looked terrible: Helens had blood on her claws, while an injured man was lying nearby. Anyone arriving would probably assume that she had attacked him.
Panicking, Helens carried the man and hid him beneath a dirty blanket just before the approaching people reached the prison.
She then realized that there might also be obvious bloodstains outside the building.
Helens reluctantly went outside, already imagining the trouble that was about to begin.
