Chapter 04
Cang Xing frowned slightly. A faint trace of vulnerability appeared in his deep, abyss-like eyes, making his sharp, carved features look unexpectedly softer.
“A-Ran… you don’t want to go to the Demon Domain?”
Qiran replied gently:
“Cang Xing, I will go there in the future.”
Seeing that he alone had not received an answer, Li Che also showed a wounded expression. He lowered his head slightly, openly revealing his disappointment.
Qiran noticed and said:
“Li Che, I will also go to the Divine Dynasty.”
Li Che immediately asked:
“Really? When?”
Qiran blinked.
“After I visit the Heavenly Realm.”
Li Che answered at once:
“Alright! A promise.”
He shot Jing Qiu a sharp look, then smiled faintly and gestured behind his back to the Divine Dynasty elders.
Since Qiran was going to the Heavenly Realm, he would send people there to protect him. He was simply too busy to go personally right now.
Only now did Jing Qiu finally regain clarity.
Qiran was simply visiting the Heavenly Realm first—he never said he would stay there forever.
But Jing Qiu did not feel much disappointment. Rather, he did not dare to expect too much in the first place.
He looked at the man who seemed like a celestial being standing before him, then suddenly felt a hint of embarrassment.
He had come alone.
He had brought nothing.
How was he supposed to take Qiran out of the Tianyuan Abyss like this?
Li Che gave a soft scoff and said politely:
“Qiran, would you like to ride my Kunpeng to the Heavenly Realm?”
Cang Xing also spoke:
“I can send you on my Fire Phoenix.”
Mu Chen smiled:
“Compared to those, a flying carriage is far more stable. Would you like to try mine?”
The other sects and aristocratic families also stepped forward eagerly. None of them had mounts more luxurious than these three, but they still wanted to gain favor.
Qiran was slightly tempted.
After all, he was definitely not walking there.
He turned to Jing Qiu:
“What about yours?”
Jing Qiu looked awkward.
“I came in a hurry… I didn’t bring anything.”
Mu Chen laughed lightly.
“So you mean we weren’t in a hurry? It seems the Heavenly Realm junior uncle really is careless. How can he take good care of someone like this?”
Jing Qiu: “……”
Qiran thought for a moment.
“Then we’ll just take turns riding—Kunpeng, Fire Phoenix, and carriage.”
Cang Xing’s gaze turned cold. Li Che frowned but accepted it reluctantly. Mu Chen was the first to react and immediately led Qiran toward his carriage.
Soon, the three great beasts soared into the sky, leaving the Tianyuan Abyss behind.
The Heavenly Realm was a vast ancient sect spanning millions of miles, rich in spiritual energy and filled with rare beasts and cultivators.
Even so, divine beasts like the Kunpeng and Fire Phoenix were still extremely rare.
Now, all of them appeared together at the sect gate.
The entire Heavenly Realm was shaken.
“What is going on?!”
“Kunpeng… that’s the Thirteenth Prince of the Divine Dynasty!”
“That Fire Phoenix… only the Demon Domain young master has it!”
“And that carriage… isn’t that Mu Immortal Valley’s style?!”
Confusion spread everywhere.
None of these forces were supposed to appear together—yet now they stood side by side at the Heavenly Realm entrance.
Li Che personally escorted Qiran to the gate.
“My people will stay in the Heavenly Realm for a while. If you need anything, just order them.”
Qiran looked at the attendants and nodded politely.
Mu Chen smiled:
“I’ll wait for you in Mu Immortal Valley, little Qiran.”
Cang Xing stepped forward:
“Write to me. I’ll come for you anytime.”
Jing Qiu was left standing outside the three of them.
Then Cang Xing, Mu Chen, and Li Che all looked at him like they wanted to tear him apart.
Jing Qiu remained calm.
“I’ll take you to your residence.”
Qiran smiled and grabbed his hand.
Jing Qiu stiffened instantly.
His breath stopped.
Then, carefully, he returned the grip.
At that moment, the other three men’s gazes turned razor-sharp.
Jing Qiu activated his movement technique. A stream of light wrapped around them as they flew into the Heavenly Realm.
Chapter 4
Jade Spirit Mountain was rich with spiritual energy, palace rooftops hidden among misty peaks.
“This is Jade Spirit Mountain. You can live wherever you like,” Jing Qiu said.
Qiran gently shook his hand.
“Can I live everywhere?”
“…Yes,” Jing Qiu replied after a pause.
“Where do you live?”
“Jade Spirit Hall.”
“Which room is closest to it?”
“Chaohua Hall.”
Jing Qiu paused slightly.
Chaohua Hall was not his residence—it was where he stored his scriptures and weapons.
Qiran pointed ahead:
“Then I’ll stay in that bamboo building tonight.”
Jing Qiu: “…Alright.”
Qiran continued:
“Tomorrow I’ll go live in Chaohua Hall.”
Jing Qiu: “Alright.”
He wondered if Qiran had noticed that Chaohua Hall was the most heavily guarded place in the entire mountain.
Then Qiran asked:
“Can I see your room?”
After a moment of hesitation, Jing Qiu did not refuse.
They arrived at his residence.
Red maple trees swayed in the wind like falling butterflies.
Servants nearby lowered their heads in shock—Jing Qiu never allowed anyone into his quarters.
Inside, everything was spotless. A jade bed emitted a faint cold aura.
Qiran looked at it for a while.
Jing Qiu became slightly uncomfortable.
“Don’t look.”
Qiran asked calmly:
“Am I making you uncomfortable?”
“…No,” Jing Qiu quickly replied.
Qiran said softly:
“I just want to see how you live.”
Then he added:
“I’ve only read about things like your instruments and chess pieces… I’ve never seen them before.”
Jing Qiu’s heart tightened again.
So Qiran had read his letters carefully.
And remembered everything.
Jing Qiu spoke softly:
“If you like them, I can move them into your room.”
Qiran quickly waved his hand:
“No, I don’t know how to use them.”
Jing Qiu asked:
“Do you have anything you like?”
Qiran looked at him.
“I want to hear you play the zither.”
Jing Qiu paused.
It had been a long time since he truly played music.
He sat down at the zither.
“Of course.”
