Chapter – 71Â
 Youâre Good-Looking
An Yao loosened the fist she had been clenching and forced an awkward smile. âMaybe.â
After finishing the call and coming back, Lu Li saw An Yao was still here. His cold brows furrowed slightly. âIs there anything else?â
Embarrassment showed on An Yaoâs face. She kept up a strained smile and said, âItâs getting late, so Iâll head off first. Wanwan, if you feel uncomfortable anywhere, you can call me anytime.â
Mu Wanwan hummed in response. âThen thank you.â
To An Yao, those words sounded no different from a provocation. No matter how unwilling she felt, with Lu Li present she kept smiling and didnât dare lose her temper.
Before leaving, she looked deeply at Mu Wanwan once more, swallowed her resentment, and left.
Lu Li closed the door and walked back. Seeing Mu Wanwan eating the things An Yao brought, he immediately stopped her. âDonât eat it.â
Mu Wanwan chuckled. âWhy canât I?â
Lu Li stayed silent and packed everything An Yao brought back into the bag.
âAfraid she poisoned it?â She nudged his arm with her elbow, the mischievous smile swaying his thoughts.
Even if she disguised it well, Lu Li could still see the sadness behind her smile at a glance. He didnât ask anything, only held her hand.
If An Yao heard that sentence, sheâd probably explode from anger.
Lu Li noticed the paper and pen on the table. An idea flashed through his mind. He reached out and pulled her up. Mu Wanwan looked at him questioningly. âWhat is it?â
âI asked someone to bring food. It should arrive soon,â Lu Li said, glancing at his watch.
Unlike before, her hand was frighteningly cold.

This face indeed had the capital to enchant people. No wonder An Yao had been infatuated with him for so many yearsârefined features, outstanding family background. It was hard for any woman not to be moved.
The smile at Mu Wanwanâs lips froze. She lowered her eyes to the pen and paper he handed her, a trace of complexity flashing deep within them.
She put them back on the table and looked up at Lu Li. âAnother day.â
âYes.â
This guy who ruins the mood.
Suddenly remembering something, Mu Wanwan flipped over and sat up, staring at Lu Li with interest.
She then fell back onto the sofa, terribly bored.
âDraw me.â Lu Li picked up the pen and paper and placed them in her arms.
Instantly, the bit of warmth that had finally appeared shattered into pieces.
Without thinking, Mu Wanwan said, âYouâre good-looking.â
After joking, her stomach began protesting again. âYou threw everything awayâwhat am I supposed to eat?â
Lu Li got up to look for the air-conditioner remote.
Her beautiful eyes sparkled. Lu Liâs sexy Adamâs apple rolled; he lowered his voice. âWhy are you staring at me?â
He tilted his head at her, not understanding what she found so funny. âIs it that funny?â
He had to admit defeat to her.
Mu Wanwan looked at his back and let out a breath of relief. She covered her right wrist, a trace of sorrow flashing in her eyes.
It had originally been a joke, but he nodded seriously.
âPfft.â Mu Wanwan laughed and collapsed onto the sofa.
Lu Liâs gaze tightened. He subconsciously pressed a hand to her forehead to check her temperature. âDo you still feel unwell anywhere?â
The corners of Lu Liâs lips lifted slightly, but the next thing she said left him both amused and helpless. âNo wonder An Yao canât forget you.â
Mu Wanwan shook her head. âIâm fine. Maybe the air conditioner is set too low.â

Night was quiet; dark clouds covered the bright moon.
Doors and windows were shut tight, and the curtains blocked out the warm yellow lights outside.
