Chapter 6 – If I Get Drunk, I Won’t Miss Lu Li Anymore.

“Wanwan, what are you saying? What happened?” Qiao Le snatched the beer from her hand, frowning at the empty cans on the table. “You’ve already had three of these. You can’t drink anymore.”

“Lu Li found out that I’m working at M·E Magazine. What should I do, what am I supposed to do?” Mu Wanwan clutched her friend’s hand, confusion flickering deep in her eyes.

Qiao Le was stunned. “How could Lu Li possibly know?”

Even if S City was Lu Li’s domain, he shouldn’t have been able to find her this fast.

“Lele, I really want to see him… but I’m so afraid…” Mu Wanwan’s eyes reddened, her voice thick with tears.

She was afraid of seeing that cold look in his eyes, afraid that he hated her.

Qiao Le sat beside her, gently patting her back. “Wanwan, stop running away. You didn’t do anything wrong. Go see him and clear up the misunderstanding between you.”

“It’s too late. No, he won’t forgive me anymore.” Mu Wanwan lay down on the table, crystal tears tracing bright paths down her cheeks.

After a pause, Qiao Le sighed softly. “Wanwan, actually… that day at the café, after you left, Lu Li came in. He asked me to pass you a message.”

Mu Wanwan lifted her head. Qiao Le hesitated, then said, “Lu Li told me to ask you — ‘Four years weren’t enough. Do you want another four?’”

The words struck Mu Wanwan like lightning; her whole body froze, her blood turning to ice.

Seeing her sitting there like a lost soul, Qiao Le regretted saying it. “Wanwan, are you okay?”

Mu Wanwan’s eyes were empty. She shook her head, picked up the beer beside her, and stiffly raised it to her lips.

Qiao Le moved to stop her — but the next words out of Mu Wanwan’s mouth made her pause.

“Lele, drink with me. If I get drunk, I won’t miss Lu Li anymore.”

“You really beat me,” Qiao Le muttered with a helpless smile.

She opened another can of beer, clinked it against Mu Wanwan’s, and took a sip.

The crescent moon climbed above the trees, and the night wind chilled the heart.

When they got out of the car, Qiao Le helped the drunken Mu Wanwan toward her apartment.

“Ugh—”

Suddenly, Mu Wanwan’s stomach lurched; she ran to a tree and threw up.

Qiao Le hurried after her, supporting her while wiping her mouth and scolding gently, “Wanwan, are you okay? I told you not to drink so much. You’re such a little troublemaker—always making me worry.”

After only a few steps, Mu Wanwan collapsed onto the grass. Qiao Le stumbled and nearly fell with her.

As soon as she stood up again, the girl beside her burst into tears without warning.

Startled, Qiao Le fumbled around, remembering how her best friend always got emotional when drunk. She rushed over. “Wanwan, what’s wrong now?”

“Lele, I lied to Lu Li. I promised him I’d stay by his side forever, but I broke that promise. He must hate me so much, doesn’t he?” Mu Wanwan buried herself in her friend’s arms. Under the streetlight, her tear-streaked face looked heartbreakingly fragile.

“It’s been four whole years. Every day, I look at his photo… but I can’t even draw a complete picture of him anymore. Tell me, what should I do…”

In the quiet lane, her hoarse sobs echoed softly.

Qiao Le’s heart ached as she listened. Anyone who had witnessed Lu Li and Mu Wanwan’s story—from meeting to falling in love—would think Mu Wanwan must have saved the galaxy in her past life to win him as her boyfriend. But what they didn’t know was how much she had given up for him.

“Wanwan.”

She called softly, but the girl in her arms had already fallen asleep.

The scorching summer night hung heavy in the air.
A brand-new story had just begun to unfold.

Exclusive Interview with President Lu

📰 Reporter: “President Lu, we heard that Miss Mu was your first love. You two broke up in the past. Why did you get back together now?”

💬 Lu Li (with a charming smile, eyes lowered to look at the person beside him):

“I fell in love with her when love first bloomed… and for the rest of my life, it can only ever be her.”

The crowd erupts — this kind of cheesy love line is lethal!

📰 Reporters quickly shift their microphones toward Mu Wanwan:
“Miss Mu, what is President Lu to you?”

💬 Mu Wanwan (smiling with crescent-shaped eyes):

“My big sun.”

As the words fall, Lu Li’s gaze on her burns even hotter.

📰 Another reporter boldly teases, “Then President Lu, what is Miss Mu to you?”

All the gossip-loving eyes instantly lock on the handsome, sunny man.

💬 Lu Li (his low, magnetic voice making the audience melt):

“My little sweetheart.”
