Chapter – 63
Coaxing Someone
[But there’s a mysterious reward~]
The moment Li Qingqing heard there was a mysterious reward, she immediately agreed to the task—her curiosity was just too strong.
Su Han was woken up, and he could hear their conversation clearly. He got out of bed with a dark expression.
Li Qingqing, still thinking about gaining favor, gently asked, “Su Han~ did you sleep well last night?”
He squinted, glancing at this female with sharp eyes. Just now, he had heard her say she wanted to give him to someone else.
Li Qingqing didn’t realize something was off and continued, “Are you hungry~? Should I make you something to eat?”
Su Han simply lay back down upon hearing this.
An Xuan leaned over to peek and noticed that he even blocked his ears—he clearly didn’t want to hear Li Qingqing speak.
She mumbled softly, “This merman is really stingy.”
Only then did Li Qingqing realize that he had overheard the earlier conversation.
Wanting to increase Su Han’s favor points, Li Qingqing specifically called over five beastmen to help build him his own cave.
He had escaped from Atlantis after barely surviving, and didn’t have anywhere else to go. Staying in the Silver Tiger tribe was not a bad option.
At first, the beastmen were excited about being asked to dig a cave by Li Qingqing, and all of them eagerly began.
Feng Hao curiously asked, “Why are we suddenly digging a cave?”
Without thinking, Li Qingqing replied, “For Su Han. He doesn’t have anywhere to go, and I want him to stay in our tribe.”
Upon hearing this, they all began to blame Ling Mo.
“Ling Mo, you went out with Qingqing back then and even brought back this male?” Xiao Ziye was upset. Over these days, he had been neglected by Li Qingqing.
Moreover, they only had that one encounter.
He had been trying to get close to her again but never had the chance, and now suddenly there’s Su Han—how could he not be angry?
Chi Lin also had something to say: “Ling Mo, why didn’t you stop Qingqing?”
Bai Yuan had just eaten yesterday, but he still felt hostility toward Su Han: “Why should he stay in the Silver Tiger tribe? He hasn’t even married into our tribe!”
Feng Hao, the laziest of them, though he had a good impression of Li Qingqing and was willing to be her errand boy, didn’t want to do work for another male.
“I’m not digging a cave for him. Let Ling Mo do it—he’s the one who brought him back.”
Even someone as rational and patient as Ling Mo couldn’t handle being cornered like this. He snorted coldly and turned to leave.
“Ah, Ling Mo!” Li Qingqing called, chasing after him.
Ling Mo was usually the easiest to deal with, and now he had been upset enough to leave. Li Qingqing shot them all a glare.
“You better dig that cave properly!” she said, hands on her hips, face puffed with anger.
It made people want to pinch her cheeks.
Xiao Ziye was just about to do so when Li Qingqing waved him off.
She then ran in the direction Ling Mo had gone.
With Li Qingqing gone, the remaining four beastmen completely slacked off.
Feng Hao lay on the ground, chewing a piece of dogtail grass: “This Su Han is basically a homewrecker—making me work for him.”
“I’ve never even shared a cave with Qingqing,” Bai Yuan said, imagining Su Han sleeping in the same cave as his mistress. He was furious.
Chi Lin squinted his fox-like eyes: “Seems like we need to kick this stinky male out!”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Ziye perked up. That was exactly what he had in mind. “Good idea, old fox!”
Meanwhile, Li Qingqing followed Ling Mo to his cave.
Ling Xiaotuan and Ling Xiaoyu were playing outside. Seeing Li Qingqing, they immediately stopped.
The two little ones had just seen their brother come back upset. They asked him what happened but got no answer and went into the cave to lie on the stone bed silently.
Now, seeing Li Qingqing, they immediately guessed it had something to do with her.
They ran over and asked, “What’s wrong with our brother? Did you make him unhappy?”
Li Qingqing scratched her cheek, acknowledging that it probably was somewhat her fault. “I’ll go in and see.”
She walked into the cave. Ling Mo was lying on the stone bed, back facing the entrance.
She sat at the edge of the bed. “Ling Mo, don’t be angry. I’ve already scolded them!” she said, reaching out to shake his shoulder.
Ling Mo, however, didn’t move at all, nor did he turn to look at her.
Li Qingqing decided to lie fully on top of him, moving close to see his face.
She could see that his eyes were open; he wasn’t sleeping, just sulking.
His body stiffened the moment Li Qingqing leaned on him.
She softened her voice, whispering by his ear, “Ling Mo~ don’t be angry, okay?”
If the cave were brighter, she would have noticed that Ling Mo’s ears were so red it seemed like they could bleed.
“Get up first,” Ling Mo finally spoke, unable to take it anymore.
“No, you don’t get to be angry first,” she replied.
Ling Mo was momentarily speechless. Could anger just vanish on command?
Just then, Ling Xiaotuan and Ling Xiaoyu returned.
“What are you two doing?” the little ones asked, curious about the strange posture of the two.
The children’s presence broke the intimate atmosphere in the cave.
Li Qingqing quickly got off Ling Mo.
Ling Mo also sat up straight. “Weren’t you playing outside? Why did you suddenly come back?”
Perhaps it was Li Qingqing’s imagination, but she could hear a hint of reproach in the voice of the usually doting Ling Mo.
The two little ones also felt their brother was acting strange. He usually took care of them and didn’t let them play.
Today they hadn’t played, and he got angry.
Li Qingqing hurriedly said, “Your brother is upset. Come with me and cheer him up!”
The little ones hesitated; they had never coaxed anyone before—they were always the ones being comforted by their brother.
“You two are cared for by your brother every day. Now he’s angry and you don’t comfort him!” Li Qingqing said.
Ling Xiaoyu, always sensitive, immediately went over to her brother, grabbed his hand, and shook it left and right. “Brother, don’t be angry!”
Ling Mo deliberately turned his head away, pretending not to care.
Li Qingqing, rare to see him so tsundere, covered her mouth and giggled.
Seeing Ling Xiaotuan still standing there, she said, “Ling Xiaotuan, look how well Xiaoyu is behaving, so young and already coaxing brother.”
Ling Xiaotuan had always hated being compared to Ling Xiaoyu and refused to lose.
However, his way of coaxing was a little… unusual.
He put one hand on his hip, pointed at Ling Mo with the other, and shouted, “Brother, don’t be angry!”
He shouted with all his might, face red with effort.
Finally, Ling Mo couldn’t help but laugh. “If you were like this when I coaxed you, you would have cried from fear.”
“Not at all!” His face flushed even more.
Ling Xiaoyu teasingly stuck out her tongue. “Big brother is an idiot, doesn’t even know how to coax!”
“Nonsense! Big brother already laughed!”
Li Qingqing laughed along. Outside the cave, it was already getting dark. She wondered how the cave excavation was going.
