Chapter – 53
Why Can He, but I Can’t
Li Qingqing was stuffing herself with meat when Bai Yuan suddenly pulled her up.
She hurriedly took another bite. “What’s wrong?”
“I need to talk to you.”
As he spoke, he was already dragging her toward the nearby woods.
Everyone else looked over at them.
“Bai Yuan! What is it, exactly?”
Bai Yuan gripped her hand tightly, almost dragging her along.
They reached the depths of the forest. It was pitch-dark all around, except for Bai Yuan’s eyes, which gleamed as he stared at her.
He pressed Li Qingqing against a large tree, trapping her with both arms.
He lowered his head, his nose brushing along her neck and shoulder, sending a faint ticklish sensation through her.
“You smell like Xiao Ziye,” he said, his tone tinged with anger.
“Let go of me!” Li Qingqing struggled when he hurt her.
Bai Yuan leaned in and bit down on her lips.
It was the first time the boy had done something like this, clumsy and reckless. Before long, both of them tasted blood.
Li Qingqing shoved him away. “Bai Yuan, don’t do this.”
Moonlight suddenly broke through the clouds and fell over Bai Yuan, illuminating his damp, reddened eyes. “Don’t do what? If Xiao Ziye can, why can’t I?”
He grabbed her shoulders again. “Why give it to him and not to me?”
It was the first time Li Qingqing had seen Bai Yuan like this—obsessive and stubborn.
Xiao Ziye appeared at some point and forcefully pulled Bai Yuan away. “You little brat, have you even grown up yet? Already trying to imitate adults?”
Bai Yuan was already full of resentment toward Xiao Ziye, and Xiao Ziye’s sharp tongue only made it worse.
He threw a punch at Xiao Ziye. “Mind your own business.”
The punch split Xiao Ziye’s lip. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. “Who says I’m meddling?”
As he spoke, he grabbed Li Qingqing’s hand. “Let’s go.”
Bai Yuan hurriedly grabbed her other hand. “Don’t go with him.”
Li Qingqing looked at Xiao Ziye, then at Bai Yuan, caught in a dilemma.
When she met Bai Yuan’s aggrieved eyes, she suddenly flung both their hands away. “I want to walk around by myself. You go back first.”
With that, she ran deeper into the forest.
If choosing either one would hurt the other, then she’d choose neither.
The forest was very quiet, with only the occasional bird call.
With the moonlight, the path was still visible, so it wasn’t too frightening.
Suddenly, a pair of large hands yanked her hard.
“Ah!” She screamed in shock.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Chi Lin pinning her down.
A pair of fox-like eyes smiled as he looked at her. “Our Qingqing has really grown up—making two males fight over you.”
He bent down and sucked on her earlobe.
A wave of numbness swept through her body.
“Cousin… what are you doing?”
Chi Lin sat up, propping his face on one hand, while the other traced from the corner of her bitten lip downward—
Her chin… her neck… her collarbone, finally stopping at her chest.
“Stop… stop.”
Chi Lin withdrew his hand slightly, curling his lips into a teasing smile. “Oh? So only Xiao Ziye is allowed?”
Li Qingqing didn’t know why everyone suddenly knew about this.
She patiently explained, “Xiao Ziye did it to save me. Mo Li fed me a passion fruit.”
Chi Lin was fairly rational. Hearing this, he was already prepared to let her go.
“Mo Li? He dares to set his sights on you too?”

System, system—twice in one day. You really know how to think.
Whatever. Sleeping with one is sleeping; sleeping with two is sleeping too.
With that thought, she took the initiative to wrap her arms around Chi Lin’s neck, then flipped over and pressed him beneath her.
Their positions reversed—who was on top was obvious.
“Qingqing, you…”
No matter how worldly Chi Lin tried to seem, he was still an inexperienced young man. His face was already flushed, his words stumbling.
“Didn’t you ask why Xiao Ziye can and you can’t?”
“I… I was just—”
“I’m just telling you,” she whispered by his ear, “you can too.”
Her warm breath brushed against him, making him feel as if ten thousand ants were crawling through his heart—itchy and unbearable.
“Your words. I’ll give you five seconds to regret it.”
Li Qingqing scoffed. “No regrets. I won’t regret it!”
The next second, Chi Lin exerted himself, and the one pinned beneath became her again.
He twirled a lock of her hair. “They say the Red Fox clan is beautiful, but I think you’re even more beautiful than I am.”
As he spoke, his hand had already removed her beast-skin skirt.
The birds on the branches cried and cried, endlessly.
Li Qingqing’s face flushed crimson.

After an unknown amount of time, Chi Lin held her in his arms, their skin pressed together.
In the blink of an eye, it was already dawn.
Chi Lin kissed her forehead and carefully helped her dress again.
Li Qingqing felt as though her body was about to fall apart, even though she hadn’t done anything herself.
“You go back first. I’ll come later. Otherwise, if Bai Yuan sees us, he’ll get jealous again.”
Li Qingqing hummed in agreement and weakly made her way out of the forest.
She had to admit Chi Lin really did have the qualities of a main partner—so considerate of her other mates.
When she left the forest, she found that everyone was still asleep.
She found an empty spot and sat down. Last night had really exhausted her.
Before long, Ling Mo walked over.
He had been out of the loop about what happened the night before, but he’d already noticed that Li Qingqing hadn’t returned all night. “Where did you go last night? It’s dangerous to go out alone.”
Luckily, it was Ling Mo. She didn’t feel as guilty. “I wasn’t in a good mood, so I went for a walk.”
Seeing the flush on her face, Ling Mo frowned. “Are you not feeling well? Should we go back first?”
Ling Mo was far too much of an upright old cadre—he hadn’t noticed anything at all.
Li Qingqing gave a dry laugh. “Haha, it’s fine. I’ll be okay after resting a bit.”
Their voices woke Bai Yuan.
He was still groggy when he opened his eyes, but when he saw that Li Qingqing had returned, his gaze instantly lit up.
As if remembering something, he suddenly said coldly, “Chi Lin wasn’t around last night either. Were you together?”
She suddenly felt Bai Yuan’s possessiveness was a bit too strong and was about to make up an excuse.
Chi Lin had already walked back. “How could we have been together?”
That answer seemed to satisfy Bai Yuan.
His brows relaxed a little.
Chi Lin walked over to Li Qingqing, seeing that she really didn’t look well. “Are you feeling unwell? Maybe you should head back early.”
Li Qingqing was sick of the constant battlefield among them and immediately agreed. “Okay, I’ll go back.”
“I’ll take you back!” Bai Yuan said.
Ling Mo, seeing how impulsive Bai Yuan was, felt puzzled. “The hunt still needs you. How can you leave? I’ll take her back.”
Li Qingqing echoed him. “Ling Mo can take me. They need you here.”
Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the White Snake Tribe’s camp, waking many others.
Soon, someone from the White Snake Tribe came over to ask, “Has anyone seen Pan Da?”
