Chapter 81
Dino apparently had some training, so he would be away for a little while.
“Even so… I never imagined we’d form a familiar contract with such a massive divine beast like Lord Fenrir.”
Mariana couldn’t hide her surprise about Fenrir.
“Really. I heard from the knights that he defeated an assassin all by himself in an instant. They said he’s incredibly strong.”
Lucy always seems to get information quickly. I wonder if she has close connections even within the knight order.
“I am Lord Fenrir. From now on, you may call me ‘Lady Stella.’”
He wagged his tail happily, as if pleased by the compliment. A bit cheeky, though.
“Hey, don’t get too full of yourself.”
He didn’t seem to be listening to me at all. Sigh.
“Hehe, yes. Lady Stella, thank you very much for protecting the young lady.”
Mariana once again thanked Stella. Not for protecting herself, but for protecting me. As expected, she worries more about me than herself.
“Hey, Mariana. What about the older brothers?”
“When the young lady returned and was resting here, both of them were with the Duke. Right now, Liam is training with the knights, and Gilbert is searching for the mastermind together with the Duke.”
“I see… I wonder how my older sister is doing.”
“…Well.”
She seemed hesitant to say something.
“Did something happen to my sister?”
“Due to the shock from the assassin’s attack, she developed a high fever.”
“…Ah.”
I see. That makes sense. Knowing my sister, she would have immediately come to my room once I woke up—but she didn’t, because she wasn’t feeling well.
“I’ll go visit my sister.”
“You should rest for now!”
Mariana was worried about me, but her concern for my sister left her no intention of stopping me.
“Stella, let’s go together.”
“Yeah.”
Tiana and Stella opened the door energetically and headed toward my sister’s room.
“Tiana, if you’re in a hurry, you can ride on my back.”
“Eh, really?”
“Here.”
Noticing my urgency, Stella bent down to make it easier for me to climb onto her back.
“Thank you.”
“There’s no end to thanking me for such things. You’re far too kind.”
“If someone treats you kindly, you should be grateful. That goes for you too, Stella.”
“Hmph… fine. Hold on tight. I’m taking off now.”
As soon as Stella said that, she bolted forward at full speed.
“So fast!”
If I let go of her even slightly, I’d probably be thrown off.
“Wait, there’s someone coming from the side!”
At a corner, we almost collided with someone, and she braked sharply. If we’d been just a little off, we would have hit them. At this speed, she’s basically a car.
“Ah! Brother Gilbert!”
The person we almost collided with was Gilbert.
