Chapter 7
Stingy Tan Shen (2/2)
â…â
Tan Shen took a deep breath and had no choice but to remind her again,
âIâm your bodyguard.â
A bodyguard.
Not her male favorite.
But the spoiled young lady had always been overbearing. From any sentence, she only heard the part she wanted to hear.
For example, from those four words:
You are mine.
After a long, silent standoff, Tan Shen could only say helplessly,
âIâm covered in sweat. Iâll get you dirty.â
The little fox with icy-white skin tilted her head and thought about it. Apparently, she found that reasonable.
So she finally stopped insisting that he carry her.
After she obediently walked into the bathroom on her own, Tan Shen pinched the bridge of his nose with a headache.
He had already forgotten what kind of mood heâd been in when he came to wake her up.
He had clearly been annoyed.
Yet somehow, it had ended with him coaxing her into washing her face by herself.
…
After taking a shower, Tan Shen headed to the dining hall.
There he saw Xie Yurao already dressed and ready.
She was wearing her dance practice outfit, sitting at the dining table. Her hair was tied into a neat little bun, exposing her slender, fair swan-like neck.
As she ate breakfast, she chatted and laughed with Jiang Mingci, who sat across from her.
âSo, Young Miss, youâre actually from the dance academy next to our university. I even played a basketball match at your school before.â
Xie Yurao casually asked,
âDid you win?â
Jiang Mingci nodded and said somewhat shyly,
âWe won.â
After all, students from the sports university trained regularly, so their overall athletic ability was naturally stronger.
Interested, Xie Yurao lifted her eyes and asked with a smile,
âThen you must have been very popular with the girls, right?â
The handsome campus heartthrob was youthful and energetic. When he played basketball, he looked free and confident, enough to stir the hearts of countless young girls.
â…N-No.â
Jiang Mingci lowered his head and quietly said,
âI donât like them.â
Xie Yurao didnât hear him clearly.
She sighed regretfully.
âWhat a pity. I hardly ever go to school.â
Although she majored in dance, Qin Yun had been preparing her to eventually inherit the family business, so she spent much more time receiving specialized training elsewhere.
Jiang Mingci nodded.
âI know.â
His clear, bright eyes rested on the beauty sipping porridge in small mouthfuls.
Otherwise, he wouldnât have met her this late.
âYou know?â Xie Yurao looked up and asked lazily, âDid you investigate me?â
With a single sentence, the university heartthrobâs face instantly turned red again.
He wasnât good at lying.
Lowering his head, he admitted,
â…Mm.â
Xie Yurao found this puppy-like boy far too easy to make blush.
He was quite fun to tease.
When she lifted her eyes again, she met Tan Shenâs cold, emotionless gaze.
Tan Shen had originally thought that after waking up fully, she might feel at least a little embarrassed about trying to touch his Adamâs apple that morning.
Unexpectedly, not at all.
Instead, she rested her exquisite, beautiful chin on her hand and asked with a smile,
âTan Shen, have you eaten breakfast yet?â
His voice remained indifferent.
âNo.â
Xie Yurao waved at him.
âThen come eat with me.â
Jiang Mingci fell silent but said nothing.
Tan Shen glanced at the table and noticed that the only thing requiring any effort to eat was the lychees.
He walked over, casually picked one up, peeled it in a few swift motions, and dropped the white, tender fruit into her plate.
Only then did he speak.
âNo need. Iâm going out.â
Xie Yurao didnât eat the lychee. Instead, she looked up at him unhappily.
âWhere are you going?â
âThe boxing gym.â
Tan Shen didnât follow her every second of every day.
Each week, he still set aside time to train himself so his skills wouldnât deteriorate.
Seeing her displeased expression, Tan Shen lowered his eyes and let out a quiet laugh.
âYou wonât be leaving the house today. There wonât be any danger.â
Then, as if casually, he glanced at Jiang Mingci and continued in an even tone,
âBesides, youâll be spending the entire day practicing dance with this elementary school kid. You wonât have time for me anyway, right?â
â
Jiang Mingci: â…â
Youâre the elementary school kid. Your whole family are elementary school kids.
