Synopsis
A spirited little girl named Ailien lives in a cabin deep in the forest. One day, a man as huge as a bear and as handsome as a wolf comes looking for her.
“Ettem, I knew you would come.”
But Lili isn’t flustered at all! That’s because Lili is destined to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps.
‘Lili, you will become the next Archmage after me.’
Her grandmother was the great hero of the Human-Demon War! Of course, Lili is still just a little child, so she’s a tiny bit weak for now.
Callisto, the Grand Duke who rules the Grand Duchy of Rubentain, has come to the infamous Hayana Forest in search of traces of Marlin Jeronias, the Archmage who led the Human-Demon War to victory.
But what he finds there is…
“I’m the Archmage!”
A chubby little girl who insists that she’s the Archmage.
Unfortunately…
“Your mana is weak, though.”
“Ahh!”
The mana he could sense from her was incredibly faint. He couldn’t very well leave a little girl alone in a place like this, so he decided to take her with him.
“Can I bring Kiki and Didi, too?”
“Kiki and Didi?”
“I guess it would be a bit much if three extra mouths came along, wouldn’t it?”
A cat and a flying squirrel cautiously approached the little girl as she looked at him anxiously.
“Kiki and Didi will eat just a tiny bit in my place.”
“……”
“So please take them with me, pleeease.”
Now, instead of living in a cabin in the forest, Ailien is staying at the castle of Rubentain!
“Do you think you’ll be able to fall asleep if I let you use my arm as a pillow?”
“You haven’t even given her any candy, so why is she puffing out her cheeks like that?”
“Oh my, it looks like sugar powder might come spilling out of her cheeks.”
They say a hero’s journey is supposed to be terribly lonely, but the affection showered on her by the Grand Duke’s family is simply too wonderful to resist.
She doesn’t have time to settle down like this. She needs to hurry up and find the ‘treasure’ her grandmother told her to look for…
“Do you regret it? Saving me back then?”
Even that guy with the gleam in his purple eyes is causing a fuss.
Why does everyone keep getting in the way of Lili’s solitude, when she’s destined to grow stronger and become a hero?
