Synopsis
I was reincarnated into a book.
And not just anywhere—I was reborn with the same rare disease as the female protagonist, leaving me with a limited lifespan.
The female protagonist is supposed to receive the cure from the hidden mastermind.
But the original story hasn’t even begun yet.
‘By the time that happens, I’ll be dead.’
Rowina decides to bring forward the time when the cure can be obtained by getting the hidden mastermind, who is still living like a broken-down wreck, to pull himself together.
And so…
“Hello, Your Grace. I’m from the Townsend Orphanage. My name is Rowina Whitfield, and I’m ten years old.”
“…What?”
“If you make me your family, I’ll run to the entrance and greet you whenever you come home, Your Grace.”
“What is this…”
“And, this is something I’m really going out of my way to offer…”
“What now?”
“I’ll even give you a goodnight kiss before you go to sleep.”
I decided to become the hidden mastermind’s family.
I safely gained the support of the hidden mastermind and secured my position as his heir. Once I obtained the cure, I planned to hand the position of heir over to my fiancé and leave.
That was all I had to do.
But why?
“You used to say that I was your favorite. So why are you changing your mind now? Does that mean you don’t need someone like me anymore?”
“My dear, if you dislike that fellow, why don’t you become my adopted daughter? I’ll give you all of my fortune.”
This family… likes me far too much.
And on top of that—
“You said you’d take responsibility for me, Rowina. So why are you trying to leave me now?”
“…And what’s wrong with him?”
“You promised you wouldn’t betray me. You said you were on my side.”
Why do these people love someone like me, who has nothing, so much?
Maybe… am I allowed to be greedy for love, too?
